it's halloween month so talk about horror movies and which ones made you shit your pants.

i saw people talking about that new terrifier 2 movie so i watched the bedroom scene out of curiosity. cuh razy. but it was also a little goofy and alas i have seen too much shit for it to be effective.

New Halloween movie...
I stopped following that franchise after they ruined Michael in the Rob Zombie film

Most modern movies that try to capture 80s horror spirit end up failing anyway

A movie that really terrified me is The Descent (2005) and the best part is that the lights went out at a really scary part. Another is The Shrine (2010) which isn't very well known but it has a really nice twist near the end. I'd definitely recommend them for those who love horror movies.

I've watched too much horror to be like scared in the typical sense anymore.

For me long lasting tension and proper handling and release of it is key for me.

Grave Encounters has an enjoyable string of tension and release.

The Others (2001) is simply a classic.

It's hard to remember the thousands I've watched. I watch them a lot to find hidden gems or ones that are so bad they're comedy gems instead.

I thought it was considered a master piece, how could anyone not adore that horror staple. I won't finish this Halloween without seeing it once.
it definitely is but i still rarely see it talked about, at least in comparison to some of the other horror/thriller movie juggernauts

i know i watched this but the only thing i can remember is the dude in black robe who's very far down in the catacombs.

I usually just find horror movies fun and interesting but for some reason Nope is the only one that's actually managed to scare me. Best movie I've seen in years.

Other favorites, The Thing (1982), Alien, haven't watch a ton of others that I really liked a whole lot and I don't really get the appeal of slashers. Love John Carpenter but Halloween didn't do much for me.

Smile (2022) was also a good flick; kinda confusing at first, but it gets better near the end lol
