'Great Scott, it might be a little too late for that...'

Liam did not believe that Valrin could convince that officier any more that he was already convinced himself that Liam lied, but mentally the scientist already lamented the total wipe that the Inquisitor pilot was aboout to do, either by words alone or aided by his powers.
Also, his deflection made him think that Ignes was still angry, so that didn't bode well.

"That is a sensible plan, even if I don't know if he would be willing to share it. Maybe he would be more favourable if we shared something of our own? I'm willing to share, are you?"
Sharing Information with a Xenos???

Valrin stared at Liam for a split second, incredulous.
Then realizing Liam was serious, Valrin came up with an excuse that was true: " I have nothing to share, but your... predicament with my methods should work as enough of a bridge between you and him to get at least the basics. Start with just that and do not let him know I was the one to point you in his direction, or else your cause is lost".

As he sat, Daniel couldn’t help but take the measure of the man in front of him. It didn’t take long to realize that his interviewer was fairly typical of his sort. The AF army pilot wanted to get through this quickly, and so he obliged.

“Daniel Sorenson of the Atlantic Federation Army, second lieutenant. Or I was. Now I merely serve as their test pilot for one of their mobile suits, a ryder by your parlance.”
The interrogator makes a curt nod as he rather absentmindedly lists down Daniel's details.

"The last one said he was part of the "Earth Federation" and I can't help but think that both that and your Atlantic Federation are related somehow. That and the both of you being test pilots, though you fit the part far better than that scientist did."

Daniel thought about it for a bit, but he never really heard much of an Earth Federation. It could be some very secret fringe group on his world or something from an entirely different world. Regardless, Daniel doubted the two organizations were all that related, despite the similar technology.

"I can't say I've heard of this Earth Federation, though our mobile suits have some fairly similar technology to each other."

The uncomfortable silence lasted for a bit while Liam mumbled to himself about possible applications, but he soon rose his eyes as he finally registered Valrin answer.
While it didn't shock him in the slightest, but he was disappointed by that reality.

"Not even a sample of the armor?" he asked, already deep down knowing the answer.

"Damn. Something really banged up their base. Hmmm- maybe we should've been morphed when we arrived." Hanar said turning back to his crew.

"Here comes the welcoming committee." D'Arcy Beaumont added, reaching into her coat for a weapon before Hanar pushed her hand out.

"I got this D'Arcy- I'm a professional."

"We all are, crétin."

"I don't know what salad has to do with anything- ah here he is. He must be the boss around here."

"Hey! That accent is kinda familiar. I think my Bringenburgen is a little rusty but it looks like we're someplace like that. I think the one on Earth is called Jerminny or something like that. Uhhhh Kannst du mich in eine neue Technologiestadt mitnehmen? Wir sind what was the crowndamned word? für Aktivitäten da, die wir nicht offiziell mit Ihnen teilen müssen. Yeah I think that was it."

"So that's what did this? Scaly fucks? Like reptile monsters? That sounds like something up our alley- however we're not here for that. Any fighting we do isn't charity. We gotta get paid chief." He said wringing his hands together while his companions nodded and smirked.

"What? You think our stormzords run on magic?"

They absolutely do.

"Our service don't come cheap! And we were in the middle of something before we found ourselves marooned wherever the hell this place is."
The soldier rather pointedly ignored the horrendously butchered Deutsch to answer a far more important question instead.

"Afraid none of you will have a choice in the matter, the lizards will kill anything that's not like them. A War of extermination, except we're on the receiving end this time."

The soldier then looked around to see how the rest of the base was doing and if the team followed his gaze, it would show that the burgeoning convoy seems to be traveling pretty light; carrying only personnel and some weapons and ammo to defend themselves with, at least what ammo wasn't already reduced to smoking ruin...

Though some of the troops were close enough to hear what the rest of the team had some rather choice words for them, far away from earshot... For normal humans that is.

"Unbelievable, first thing they do is ask for cash after seeing how badly we got fucked..."

"Goddamn vultures..."

"Bet they won't be thinking about money when a mechasaur tries to eat them."

Kane would notice the man passing by him, as he then recognize Stella, as he pause momentarily as she ask him about the evacuation and he nodded.

“Full scale evacuation, imminent order, I’m heading toward the Condor to get Great on the defense in case any Dino freak shows up”

He said before crossing his arm, with a hint of worry. “How the little guy doing? I doubt he Can pilot the machine in a good state much less injure”
The consultant acknowledges the news with a quick nod, it seems she's figured out as much from what she saw and how badly the base got mauled already.

"Shinkai will live, just a few broken ribs and no internal bleeding thankfully. But if worse comes to worst, I will allow him to sortie, but only in a fire support role, at least that way his injuries won't get aggravated by any aggressive movements."

"I see." David nodded, "Good. You...Care a lot more than most of those in authority back on my supposed Earth."

Seeing such a colonel give a damn...It was enough to move David heart a centimeter...But no more, such good people were fleeting...He couldn't allow himself to get too attached.

"Would it be wise to assume this...Dinosaur Empire will be able to make more attacks on this base sooner rather than later?"
The colonel gave David an incredulous look, almost in disbelief that a colonel like him would ask such a redundant question. But maturity and his own discipline, however lax it seemed in comparison to what was to be expected of his rank; kept the Austrian colonel from making any snide coments regarding the outworlder's bad short-term memory.

"They'll only need to attack once to take Thalerhof and if the spec ops shit they pulled wasn't evidence enough that they're on a timetable for their surprise attack, then you'll be seeing in as little as two hours."

"Afraid none of you will have a choice in the matter, the lizards will kill anything that's not like them. A War of extermination, except we're on the receiving end this time."
"Thats good! I mean for us, not for you guys. That means work is guaranteed! We're in the business of beating shit up and war is always good for our bottom line" He bellowed as his comrades nodded and gave each other high fives of affirmation.

"Alright, now I don't know if you're the one in charge or just some grunt menial, but we can discuss payment later. I'll show you all I'm a nice guy by letting you have the first engagement for a reduced fee. How's 15,500- What was the leading currency on earth again Darce? American?- Yeah 15,500 American dollars will do. Half our fee for a battle. That's just on a case by case basis. for 125 an hour, each by the way, we can stick around for as long as you'd like."

"If the shit is as bad as you fellas say it is- I don't think any price is too high. Were I in your shoes-" Hanar added poking the man's chest, "I would take up that most generous offer from these fine folks." He said gesturing to his team, dressed in a strange mix of metal hard armor and colored clothing not unlike something you'd see in a museum exhibit of the very early 20th century.

"Don't worry. I won't charge you up front. We can burn that bridge when we get to it." He said patting the man's shoulder then his cheek.

Hanar heard, and so did the others besides the oblivious buxom blonde playing with her hair, obviously bored.
While Beaumont grit her teeth and Virtanen didn't even react, McKallister grinned devilishly. He was quite used to drawing such ire from enlisted soldiers mad that he does their job with much more freedom and better pay.

"I know you Earth soldiers carry instant meals. Pass some our way and I'll pay you in cash" He said walking past the man who met them to join the others.

"After all-" He said passing closely by the muttering soldiers glancing them as he walked past.
"Even vultures gotta eat." He flashed them his just slightly yellowed chompers in a wicked grin, exhibiting prominent sized canine teeth.

The zords followed several yards behind them trembling the concrete tarmac with their steps.

A red four winged bird of prey carrying missiles on its back, a yellow winged horse with a giant long drill, a blue humanoid robot with a crackling electric ax, and a pink humanoid maiden carrying a giant metallic hoop with a sharp edged.

"I... uh...ok. I'll let you go inside for your interrogation then..."

Liam moved over, letting Valrin pass on to the meeting room, while he decided to go to the hangars to check on the Null.
He said to the officer that he would provide proof of what he claimed, so he would: the cameras should have been on and the digital signature on the OS would match his credentials.
Assuming said officer would remember his conversation after Valrin finished with him.

“I say don’t, but knowing The kid he might risk it, a shame to be rob out of his childhood but he could be a Hero one of these days” He said before thinking.

“Have him deploy alongside me, that way in case we do get ambush, I can shield him with Great Mazinger and take the hits while he uses me for cover” he mention, as he though about it, he didn’t wanted to see someone in a bad shape deploy but with what happening, he figure that he can try his best to protect at least someone he know of.

“But if you want to, I have to get going, I need to help the evac people with Great, I’ll catch ya on Com”

As he wave at her, and headed outside to get to the condor, as he take a deep breath, he want to be a hero yet he didn’t want to make people believe in someone who can perish anytime.

"I see..."

The interrogator jostles down the notes.

"Now about how you and your companions arrived on our planet and what exactly was the cause for why a nuclear fusion reactor had to be detonated on the surface of Cera..."

From the way his voice deepened and how his eyes narrowed, it looked like the interrogator wanted a good answer from the OMNI test pilot, one that is hopefully far better than whatever Liam had told him earlier.

The slight visual cues weren’t lost on Daniel. His interviewer likely expected some kind of sensible answer. Unfortunately, what happened thus far wasn’t all that sensible, especially the events on the ship.

“I don’t know how I arrived here, honestly. Whatever phenomena dragged me here still eludes me. The others are as clueless as I am,” Daniel replied. As for the other, “One of that ship’s crew set the reactor off. The ship had to be destroyed to prevent whatever was inside it to spread and endanger this world. The enemy we faced appeared to have the ability to influence the weaker minded, and the ship was apparently…tainted by it, so to speak.” Daniel sighed. It didn’t really sound all that reasonable when he heard himself say it, but he really couldn’t explain it any better.

“I understand if you can’t believe me, but that’s what I witnessed there. All I’m doing is telling you how I saw it.” Daniel stared the interviewer straight in the eye, waiting for his response.

Once again the interrogator silently jostles down Daniel's testimony, though he was muttering under his breath something about "memetics" or other such things.

"I suppose if the nature of whatever was inside that ship was that bad, then "demons" could've been the closest thing in that civilian's mind to describe those alien creatures your group allegedly faced."

The way he said, civilian in such a derogatory manner... It's quite clear he didn't like the young scientist.

"And one more thing, I know it's very presumptuous to ask and I honestly can't believe myself for even suggesting this, but do you think those "demons" of yours and whatever spirited you away to our world are related somehow? We've met strange outworlders before, actual non-human aliens that we once believed were all gone; but how you and that ship got to Cera and the events surrounding it is a first, even for our local sector. At least those aliens had the courtesy not to suddenly warp well within Cera's gravity well and scuttle their ship scarcely an hour after landfall."

The man in front of him began muttering something, but Daniel couldn’t really figure out what he meant by it. He was probably a bit irritated by all this, which was fair. More than once, he heard what must have appeared like fanciful delusions rather than rational explanations, but life has a tendency to become more bizarre than fiction. The man also didn’t appear to like Liam much if that derision in his tone regarding the scientist was any indication, but his hangups weren’t too much of a concern at the moment.

Another question was then asked, possibly the last one. Daniel had no real answer for it, but like before, he’ll respond as best he could.

“It’s certainly possible,” the AF army pilot replied. “This isn’t exactly my area of expertise, but there might be a faint chance this could’ve been planned. By who or what, I can’t say. Of course, this is all obviously just speculation. Phenomena like this are beyond my scope to properly examine.”

After Liam had left the room, Valrin took his words as invitation to enter the room. The lock was simple to by pass, a mere amount of force ejected it, and the 3 electronic bolts from the wall to the floor. The opening of the door, and its slamming upon the ground, allowed Valrin to hear the tail end of the conversation from both sides.

"Yet such studies are not beyond my grasp"

With that utterance Valrin captured the eyes of the Interrogator as he entered the room. The officer's indignant standing up interrupted by whatever he saw in Valrins pitch eyes.

"No need to stand for my arrival, I believe if you're civilized enough that Legal representation is afforded to all of those descended of Man interrogated regardless of standing. Thus I have arrived to represent my peers. You already interviewed another, and a mere civilian at that, without due process. Truly Ceran hospitality has made a name for itself."

"Memetic is the best way to describe such creatures, unlike my peers and yourself I am familiar with such Viruses upon reality. You call us ungrateful visitors for destroying our ship upon your sands, yet if you're familiar with memetic attacks at all you'll realize such a fusion blast was a mercy rather than letting such an infection escape to this planets population. Let alone in an unpopulated desert, really to blame and hold us in contempt for what we did is rude when we spared your entire Planet from Horrors you could not possibly imagine."

Valrin approached the table, keeping the officer's eyes in his own gaze. "You'll understand, with the nature of such an attack that you cannot report this to your higher authorities. Such belief in even the existence of these beings among people can cause trouble in and of itself. And thus you'll understand why you won't remember this conversation. You'll write my companions, the crew of the ship, and I as having taken the correct actions to save your planet from a memetic attack. You'll recommend to them instead to assign us all to the ship that carried us here as Auxiliary forces, Freeblades or mercenaries, whatever term you use. Then you'll forget this all except what I say to you to report to your betters. This will be as naught but a dream, easily forgotten and you'll live your life as a pawn as such befits you"

With those words Valrin forced his will into the officer to make his words true, while grabbing his notes to... correct the records. The man would be better off forgetting this all, and to live the life of the ignorant. Truly Valrin was merciful, to send one back to such a blissful state.

The interrogator at first, looked like he was about to call for security at Valrin's sudden intrusion, but as the Knight Scion began to speak onward, the officer's face started to slack into a dazed, empty look, his eyes losing focus, awareness clearly vacating his headspace. It was an uncomfortable amount of time before the light came back to the interrogator's eyes and he began to speak in response to the intruder.

"I... I... I suppose you are right... A hazard that spreads through simply knowing about it is best counteracted by having nobody know about it after all... Ngh..."

The interrogator holds the bridge of his nose and squints as if in pain. Then to his surprise, he found that there was blood starting to drip from his nostrils, staining his once-immaculate uniform.

"W-what the...? This never happened to me before, I should get this looked up."

Meanwhile, outside the Tempestus Scion who had talked to Daniel earlier tried his hardest to hide the shit-eating grin that had formed on his face after seeing Valrin's telepathic abilities wreak havoc on the unprepared Ceran guards, rendering them little more than flesh-statues, standing around with absolutely no awareness of the outside world as the other crewmen of the Mercury began to mill about the hallway, stretching their legs now that there was nobody to bother them and for one young crewmate, started waving his hand across one of the guard's faces in a childish attempt to get a reaction out of him, naturally failing to break through Valrin's suggestion.

"Psykers, can't live without 'em..."

He began to speak, ignoring Daniel overall. The AF pilot just stared aghast at what was happening, almost transfixed by this audacity in display. It was similar to how one would react to a traincrash in slow motion, with every vivid detail made apparent.

Daniel turned to look at the interrogator, as puzzled as he was by what happened. The AF pilot then turned back to Valrin and stood up.

"What the hell is this? What did you even do? First you nearly made the situation blow up in the hangar, now whatever this is?!"

Ngh..."

As the door thudded on the ground, Daniel wheeled around to see Valrin barging in. Of all the things he expected to happen during this little interview, this was definitely not one of them. Just what did Valrin think he was doing?

"Valrin, what the fu-"

He began to speak, ignoring Daniel overall. The AF pilot just stared aghast at what was happening, almost transfixed by this audacity in display. It was similar to how one would react to a traincrash in slow motion, with every vivid detail made apparent.

Daniel turned to look at the interrogator, as puzzled as he was by what happened. The AF pilot then turned back to Valrin and stood up.

"What the hell is this? What did you even do? First you nearly made the situation blow up in the hangar, now whatever this is?!"
Valrin strode out of the room beside his fellow. At the statement leveled, He then about faced to address Daniel directly.

"I was not wrong in saying you lacked Legal testimony. Even in such events, for this level of civilization they didn't even bother citing any laws to postpone any rights. Even my most Puritan peers scream their transgressions and laws the accused is being charged with. Also I was honest in saying they were rude. Furthermore I was not wrong in saying even the knowledge of such beings is dangerous even existing. Thankfully the officer was... pliable to reason. So were the rest of these fine gentlemen"

Valrin then spread his hands to indicate the Guards around them, each lost in their own little worlds.

An epiphany stuck Valrin. If Ceran hospitality tracked, might as well try and make as much of a impact as possible. Barbarians. Also the physical destruction needed an explanation, or else some people may become suspicious and too many questions would be asked.

But these were Military Men, even if at such a low standard, there were still universal activities that may be a better cover for such damage.

Valrin backtracked quickly into the room, to the disoriented Officer. Quickly searching his pockets, Valrin found the officers wallet. Holding it to to officer's Valrin addressed him once more:

"Your wallet feels heavy, and your men look thirsty. As an officer its your duty to ensure the good standing and morale of your men, Thus after submitting your report thus with the recommendation to our assignment post haste, and stalling any janitorial or maintenance inspection of this wing for the next day, its only right you repay their efforts.. With how good of a job they did escorting and playing hospice to us, the guards down the hall and in the surrounding areas deserve several rounds all on your generosity. Then bring the party later into this corridor, let everyone get some steam out. Joygirls, fighting, drinking, whatever to destress adequately, and provide this hallway and these rooms some true character. We can escort ourselves back to our assigned ship, and security need not be assigned. We've been perfect guests, and you're a gracious host after all."

With his will pushing in once again, Valrin also sent the suggestion in a wave back to the guards as well. He sweared of all his psychic feats thus far this was the easiest. It seemed these men required very little push to be convinced to forget their current duties and enjoy some fine Amsec and entertainment at the insistince and tab of their commander.

After that wave, Valrin turned back to Daniel and allowed only the crew and his fellows to hear this next part. The guards need not. "After a lovely inspection of this base I've determined such soliders deserve to be where they truly belong. At the bottom of a glass and not annoying us. Don't worry I'm confident they can make enough of a mess to cover up anything suspect, or at least cast any of our actions into uncertainty."

As they walked out, Daniel saw Valrin do more of his...work. There was absolutely no way he could keep doing this without any consequence, surely. At the end of it all, the AF pilot suddenly felt an extreme urge to just grab Valrin by the shoulders and violently shake him out of frustration. Thankfully, logic and restraint ended up victorious, at least this time.

"You just can't keep tampering with the minds of another ship's crew! Putting aside any moral arguments, someone might actually notice eventually and we'd get flak for it. Especially if there's another on this ship similar to you," Daniel said. He breathed out and relaxed himself. He needed to be calmer, being unnecessarily tense would only be a detriment.

"They aren't the crew of a ship, they're garrison guards on an Army base, that our now assigned Naval ship stopped off at, as you'll note from our ground containment, and the massive Anti Air defenses. Thus any complants from the Army would have to first make it past the Navy, at which point we would hopefully be at another base, and the graze of Amsec, time and convincing of one's self, would cover our tracks. Even then, the ones causing the damage are Army personel, and to admit that such a mess was caused by their own personel to another branch would probably be unthinkable, without at least ample time to make suitable excuses. Time for us to gain enough distance, leverage and let tempers die down."

"However, you're correct, such feats do take a strain on my mind, but really, to convince a bunch of army grunts to blow off their job and get drunk took next to no effort. Even then you could see enough of my strain that I caused the Officer to bleed, not a common occurrence I've gathered. However even without my methods of persuasive talk, the crew around us probably could have lulled and convinced them into such a state in an hour at best."

Valrin continued to walk down the hall back to the Naval vessel they came upon, Daniel now just a bit behind him. "If there was another such as me, unless they are like the Xenos we ran into eariler, we would stand out like beacons to one another. Much like Kazuki and Char, I could sense them before they were on our horizons. And of they are like the Xenos we met before it is more likely they are apart of the Navy we are now assigned to, and thus would not hear about our actions until long afterwards. Thus the combination of time, liberal doses of Amsec and the unearned cynicism of the ignorant would have washed away most traces of my actions here far better than anything else I could ply to them"
