Sorta a sensitive subject for me, so I apologize in advance, @Poyser, but I’m gonna sit this one out for personal reasons.

Really sorry to hear it man, that is of course completely understandable.

Just to defend myself a little, the theme of the game is mostly around the mass hysteria and silly gimmicks that were introduced around that time. The majority of it is poking fun at the government and the shit they were doing or introducing

How about renaming it to Global Crisis Mafia? Keeps the same feel without hitting too close to home. It makes the name more ambiguous and not directly tied to the actual event, given the sensitivity of the topic. We could do the same with the roles and actions too, and honestly, it feels less impactful, imo.

Thoughts?

I'm not really up for re-writing all the game lol. Most of the stuff included is tied to specific events, things that were said or silly measures that were introduced and generally poking fun at the shit we had to deal with for 2 years which was basically the inspiration behind writing the game and being based on some of the stuff that were kind of in-jokes with a lot of members of the section etc.

There is no real poking fun at covid itself or it's victims of course, and in fact the only real time the disease itself enters the flavour is the fact that the recruitment flavour is to be infected. That said, I would not begrudge anybody not playing this game if they are sensitive towards the subject and think it may trigger them. In fact, I'd encourage them not to play if that's the case.

I'm not trying to upset anybody or hurt their feelings etc, but for a lot of us we went through a lot during this time when it comes to dealing with restrictions that none of us wanted to, not seeing people and all sorts of shit, so we poke fun and let off some steam etc.

Those are my thoughts.

I say this as someone with Long Covid which had a major deteriorating effect on my mental health, the nadir of which was in a story some of the older folk will now about how I picked up juice in Clapham Common.

As a lactose intolerant I would appreciate people serving less milk.

(Jk I couldn’t go a day without my cereals and milk lmao).
