I'm not even mad, was just simply disappointed is all lol
I didn’t even have to look far to find how often the word "****" and other uncompetitive trash talk gets thrown around in these games.

This ties directly back to what I said earlier about the lack of clear guidelines and consistent enforcement. Does any of this sound like "bros joking" or reconciling? Because it doesn’t. Once again, I’m asking: when’s enough going to be enough?
It’s no coincidence that even T-Pein noticed this has been an issue for a while, and Emil
brought it up in the Tales of Arise game too.
@Emil, were you joking here or were you serious?
The only solution Dr. Watson and I came up with to please all parties here is to create an invite-only user group with its own section. You can designate who manages the invites and how it’s run. The name and link to the section would be public, but the threads themselves would only be visible to those in the invite-only group. This way, the people who want that kind of environment can have it without making it the standard for everyone else.
So, calling someone a retard or a **** is considered playing serious? So you're telling me that if I was at a tattoo show (which I was recently) and I participated and lost (which I did), it would be cool for me to cuss out the winners of each category just because I thought their tattoos were too simplistic compared to mine, which I saw as realistic and detailed? I bring this up as an example because tattoo show contests are taken very seriously. People spend time away from their families, friends, etc., just to have a good time and compete professionally so that shops can win awards and some notoriety to go along with it. That same notion should carry over to this forum as well, and I'd expect some level of professionalism, especially given how y'all make it sound like that when, in reality, there is no professionalism involved whatsoever.
Has this conduct been widely accepted on other forums like WG? I highly doubt it, unless what I know from my own personal knowledge that Ratchet is/was trying to clean up their Mafia section recently was complete bs lol. The only level of seriousness that occurs in Mafia is when players are actually enjoying the game, and that's hardly the case, even when games get heated here. No one tells the person who's upset that it's "just a game", and that the words used against them weren't serious. There's no accountability or respect after that point. So not being able to recognize that as a problem makes it a big problem for me and for others who don't share the same view as you and others about how y'all run and conduct yourselves in this section.
Nah, that was just you trying to prove a point in that game, especially knowing you could bypass posting in locked threads as a staff member. The reason I got upset was because you simply wanted to get the last word and disrespect me and it's even worse when you're supposed to be my fellow staff member, and you treat me as the complete opposite most of the time. That's really all there is to that situation, so I'm not even sure why it's still up for discussion or why you're trying to prove a point again.
......you really gonna make me do it?

Overall use of the word "****" in this section (can't remove quotes from search queries because it is looking at posts as a whole):

I want to reiterate that it's not just about the use of the word "****". Sportsmanship is completely left at the door, and the heat from one game carries over to the next one, and that's one of my main issues. How is this even approachable for users who are new to Mafia? And how is this a "professionally" played game than spans to other forums outside of ours, especially under the concept of "ranked", when stuff like this is even remotely acceptable here?
The OBD takes out the trash themselves, and it's typically one or two regular trolls from other battledome-like forums who show up every now and then (like Doc and Jailor making dupes) just to talk shit. It's a lot different when it's mainly the staff of this section either going at each other or going after players they don't like or agree with. While I agree that they use about the same level of profanity in the OBD as what's said in Mafia games here, the mods of that section close those threads and punish those bad eggs appropriately. It also wouldn't be fair to allow the same leniency y'all want in this section but only give it to specific sections like the OBD.
One reason these sorts of posts are often overlooked is that users in the OBD have only recently started using the report feature after me telling them to do as much if they want us staff to look into the issues they are having. Staff members can’t see or don’t have the time to view each and every post a user makes in each section of the forum. We will be addressing what I said sooner rather than later once we come to an agreement on the way forward and how to deal with the issues in this section that some of us currently have.
I believe I finally solved that problem once and for all a minute ago lol
I also installed an add-on a while back that disables word censoring for logged-in users, so we can either keep that add-on or censor all the words listed on this options page for everyone. I don't want to be a brute and ban all profanity, just the more harshly used ones, per se.
We can work on this list as a community in a separate thread, but we'll tackle that at a later date once the dust settles from this long-overdue convo we're all having here.
Insults, but my prior stance before this thread was regarding SEO, which I took care of as of today.
I choose violence as the answer to this post
Y-yes, that's also what I was getting at Poy-san
Btw, I'm actively switching tones here because I'm replying to newer posts as well, just to keep up with the flow of the thread. That’s to say this is not an open invitation to lay into me for my previous replies to quotes in my post here lol

Game suspension is something we tried before, and it seems to work, for the most part, even if we only tested the waters with this approach a few times.
I also want to be able to play a game here without being insulted without warrant or to apply some level of respect ideally lol.
We can't even get new players to come join us here without scaring them away most of the time, and that's a big problem. The same goes for the OBD, which, like I stated previously, we'll handle that soon enough.
If Fang needs to be punished for what he said to Ratchet, then we can determine the length of the suspension as a collective, since this section is run as its own micro-community, just like the OBD. I'm okay with this and pretty fair when it comes to allowing collective decision making, especially if it's within reason.
..... or is it?
Shoutbox is not visible to guests, unless you're talking about profile and thread posts?
We also haven't stood silent about GB's behavior either, unless I need to bring up receipts for that as well? lol. He's also been punished and previously banned from the Shoutbox and other sections for similar behavior, and
@Dr. Watson can easily vouch for that because we are well aware of how creepy and dark GB can get. We've simply been too lenient with him up until recently when enough was enough. We're not turning a blind eye, per se, but I would also like to see some suggestions from people like you who are not just a section moderator for our Mafia section but also a member of OLF staff as a whole. We addressed the whole Orca/Polar issue already internally, so why not apply the same approach if GB is a topic for discussion here?
That almost never leads to the player actually stopping, though, and then it carries on to the next game, and then the next game, and then to the next game... lol
tl;dr inb4 and mfw someone says they ain't reading all of this shit I wrote here
