Didn't the point and click game sort this out? I know it's considered canon to this day and even got a recent re-release on gog. I have yet to beat it but I heard it did clarify on some aspects of the original movie.

No idea, I was never big on BR even though I like the whole aesthetic. I'm more fascinated by grittier more industrial cyberpunk or the absolute opposite high tech high sci-fi one. Not to mention BR came to be from a short Moebius comic written by Dan O'Bannon who was the shadow mind behind a lot of pop culture and sci-fi ideas and tropes, the cyberpunk vision in that short piece looks miles better than BR's mostly noir inspired melancholic take on a retro future.
Also fuck CP2077 for making people think the genre is nothing but colourful 80s techo funk punk nonsense.

Woody as kletus is actually pretty good and easily the highlight of the movie imo. He steals every scene he's in
The movie is caught in this weird limbo where it wants to be hardcore
but then also has venom cracking dumb jokes and acting like a retard because they have to push him as a more good guy antihero.
