You're not wrong but it's because we know he's a proper snake. I have good reasons for reading him as scum that I would say it's negotiable. If there's 3 scum left the odds of him being godfather are 33%. That's not accounting for other abilities.

Guillo flipped town but was an easily manipulated vote. Lappland has the Chuck parity cop mech on him.
So, if we do 'examine the wagon clearly' then Fuji & Pein stand out the most. Pein's claim is eh on the semantics of it all, as I don't see the purpose of confirming if a gift was received or not - players would either say they did (like Chuck did) or be found out about. Fuji claimed voyeur/follower, which I don't think he claims as wolf. Also his reactions to pushes and not being listened to see seem townie.
So, of the 3, I'd vote Pein first, if we want to go there. But no, I want to go magic.
Should also point out that in Lap's case chuck just announced his check after he had it wheras Guillo apparently copped Magic like Day 4 after guillo had already been outted for 2 days

If Magic's scum I think the exe wagon probably has one scum at most realistically, wouldn't tell his mates to overextend too hard like that. Could be overthinking it
