They have like a 20+ page discourse on this exact subject back on the respect thread. Paxton and Astaro have this argument at least twice every week for nearly the past two months. I'm very sure they just couldn't help themselves. It's exhausting to read at this point.

Sounds like you are splitting hairs here. Izzard had those students resurrected. Othinus could resurrect people as Valkyries. There's an entire field of magic called Necromancy in Toaru which can be summarized as 'calling up the dead'. Whatever 'True proper resurrection' is supposed to mean, all those examples I've provided proves that wherever the dead go to in Toaru it isn't particularly hard to contact them. How do you reconcile that with this part of the scan?

It's not actually all that hard in Toaru given we have multiple resurrections in setting. NT 9

The thing is Kingsford only uses 'basic magic'. That's the point. The basic magician would definitely not be able to use other four world techniques. So Kingsford proves that it's possible for a magician to outscale their own magic as you are putting it. No need for them to be exactly as skilled as Kingsford. It just needs to be possible. Coupled with the better feats magic gods have well...

Just finally noticed Paxton and Astaro's fight lol. @Paxton have you forgotten Anna Kingsford. By your logic she also like top five of the verse currently but she only uses stuff novice magicians can do except mastered to the extreme. Novice magicians can't even imagine to do super special stuff like pure elements, beriah laws, and what not. Yet Kingsford can throw down with the very strongest without exclusive perks. That means in the end. All those unique and special powers in Toaru are flavouring and aesthetics. You don't need to climb a tree or do some meta bullshit. You can match the strongest with the basics. All that matters is feats because Toaru system lets you do pretty much anything with time. Anything. And magic gods have the best feats.

The only set of people I've seen running on pure head canon than the Toaru fandom are SB/SV fanfic writers. People are using fear aura as an argument in that vs battle thread when Misha could straight up one shot people with killing intent. There's straight up death hax from pure fear in the setting. There's literally no accurate complete power scaling thread for Toaru on the internet. None.

I vaguely remember it being mentioned in this thread that True Gremlin might not be able to use Aleister's exact spells because they operated on different fundamentals. I've been thinking "what about Index?". Is there any part of Toaru magic system that Index knowledge does not cover?
