    Wonder when we'll start seeing a stronger JRPG or Japanese-developed game-verse than SMT. Or if any Western game-verse will ever start approaching anywhere close to TES in cosmology and scaling.

    Outside of visual novels like Umineko/When They Cry or I/O at least, since VN's probably don't count as actual video games? And outside of tabletop shit like Composite DND for the latter?

    I wouldn't really know if and when something comparable could arise.

    Looking purely at TES and SMT most of it seems to be pretty coincidentally.

    Umineko is 50/50 towards counting for a lot of people but having read the manga I don't think its above the beforementioned 2. At least not at the age of ESO for TES and post Apocalypse for SMT.

    By OBD standards those 2 are likely top 2, by other boards probably aswell.

    I personally think Umineko/When They Cry at their absolute peak should be above both TES and SMT, at least if "The Creator" is still assumed to be this many layers into "Boundless" or "Extraversal" and if Featherine at their best is not far from that level as well.

    Do you think some of the strongest VN's out there are the most surefire candidates for being the absolute strongest game-verse? Preferably, i'd like to see more JRPG's like SMT or other big Japanese game-verses, preferably good ones, that just as strong if not stronger than SMT and TES.
