I'm still rewatching it (and haven't had the chance to in two weeks because I've been on holidays), but I'll check it out when I get back to that point). You really need to calc the yield of Father forcefully surprising Amestrian Alchemy which uses the energy of tectonic shifts as a source.
Ampchu calced it some years ago and it yeilded some gigatons iirc , but the calc got yeeted by Potato Man so...as it stands, the feat is unexplored.
It would be a nice feat for Father v1 and Hoheneim since he's > Father's first form .
I'll just post the manga scans since i happen to have them on hand .I'm still rewatching it (and haven't had the chance to in two weeks because I've been on holidays), but I'll check it out when I get back to that point).
So Father was holding Amestris itself tectonically in place to prevent the use of Alchemy?I'll just post the manga scans since i happen to have them on hand .
Should be clear enough.
If there's anything else needed, let me know and i'll fish it up.
Those who are taken beyond the Gate will have the laws of the Universe hammered into their minds.Deep within the door lies the Truth. Enveloped in the white infinity, there is a being that calls itself the world and a single heavy door. Those who have attempted human transmutation will arrive in this endless void. He will guide those who are lost in their search for the truth to the truth of the world. In exchange for a toll...
Truth is the Universe itself, everyone and no one at the same time and one and the same as God (although this sometimes translated to "in agreement with God" or "equal with God;" the original kanji being 神と同意の, which translates roughly to "meaning the same as God").Anyone who is taken inside the door will have the laws of the universe hammered into their mind.
I asked a friend who can read Japanese if the above is accurate, and he confirmed the relevant parts of this translation are accurate. As such, we have confirmation (for the anime at least, though I feel there is enough narrative and story context for this to also apply to the original manga) that Truth is infact the entire universe and contains all knowledge within (plus the white void he/she/it resides in is infinite).Truth
A being that appeared before Ed and the others. He is the world and the universe, in agreement with God, and everyone and no one at the same time.
(I asked a friend who can read Japanese, and he said that the sentence in question translates to something akin to "What he found was a mysterious space filled with darkness, and an endless sea of blood," so it's pretty much the same).Episode 25 “Door of Darkness”
Ed gets swallowed up by Gluttony. What he found was a mysterious space filled with an endless sea of blood and darkness. Although he manages to reunite with Rin, he is at a loss as there is no clue how to escape. Eventually, they reunite with Envy, who was also swallowed. Envy tells Ed and the others that this place is inside Gluttony's belly, and that it is a failed version of the Door of Truth created by "Father", and that once they enter, they will never be able to get out.
In an alchemical ritual gone wrong, Edward Elric lost his arm and his leg, and his brother Alphonse became nothing but a soul in a suit of armor. Equipped with mechanical ""auto-mail"" limbs, Edward becomes a state alchemist, seeking the one thing that can restore his and his brother's bodies...the legendary Philosopher's Stone.
With all the pieces now in his possession, the homunculus "father" executes his master plan as Edward and the others watch in horror. When the dust settles, the entire world has been reshaped. With the help of Hohenheim, the Elric brothers lauch a desperate final attack, but is it all too late...?
There's a ton of narrative context for Truth being the Universe itself (Ed and Al during their training figuring out that alchemy was pretty much the cycle of birth and death that exists everywhere in nature and the whole universe, which Truth says back to Ed when he opens the Gate; and Father learning that stars are born from nuclear fission when he swallows the planet's gate and the knowledge within). I got into a few debates about it too, so finally having confirmation is satisfying.really funny to get a confirmation after all these years that Truth at least was universal lol. It was probably always there, but FMA being mostly debated in the earlier days of this hobby didn't help much
