I don’t know a ton about Metroid, so assume Killy fights each version of Samus from the end of every game up through Dread, what’s the farthest he can get?

I know that there is a calculation of Samus of star level, I think from the manga, I don't know if it is the same in the video game version, but at least the manga version stomp.

Being star level doesn't mean much to a guy firing event horizons/gravitons out of his gun that can effortlessly tear through material designed to house the solar system. A material he also dented with his fists

Unless she's significantly faster she gets shot

Yeah if is Metroid EX Samsus is a stomp, also in the end of the manga she using Animus power cause a White Hole and nullify an universal scale Black Holes so...

Edit. Reading again the chapter, is iffy if the White Hole Creation is combat aplicable cuz Samus only use that power once and in the last part of the lasts chapters, but the feat is there.

And the mention of the universal scale of the black holes of Greed.

speaking of that, I was reading Blame and So On after seeing a super old post you did of the GBE and how it works

aside from Nihei being an insane genius who thought about every aspect of the manga in super technical terms and didn’t explain nearly any of it until this book I think it just ignores durability entirely, because it isn’t attacking you with the gravity it uses it to “change your location” to be full of dark matter which obliterates any substance

I forgot he gave that as one of the explanations

He also commented that firing it on the surface of the earth would destroy the atmosphere

I’m most amazed that none of this is him bullshitting at all. Reading these explanations I really am recalling certain details of the manga and going OH that’s what that meant

it’s so insane to me he thought the entire story out to this degree but intentionally did not explain even 5% of it in the actual comic

Nihei doesn't like directly explaining his stories most of the time (Sidonia ni kishi being an exception) and prefers to use visuals to express everything. Abara (where Fujimoto got the inspiration for Chainsaw Man(even naming Denji after him)) Biomega ect dont have a lot going on in terms of direct story telling and people are left to just fill in the blanks

Mind linking this for context dude?

Trying to model it in my head, but how it looks will determine the interpretation

Was it you or Zen that had me look at punching through the planet with his gun though? Or was that Raidou? Been a while.

Think she scales off Ridley outflying her ship with bullshit FTL acceleration and speed from MP1?

Linking what, the explanations for the gun? The megastructure housing the solar system? Or Killy denting it with his fists?

Ah, my keyboard shit itself so ill have to get around to it tomorrow (im on my phone lol)

Thats Zoichi Kanoe from Biomega. Different character from a diff manga (same author though) who had a mode on his pistol that let him channel his brainwaves through the gun

Ah

Killy's got LS to ftl reactions but no kinda real movemt speed. Think it took him something like a few thousand years to walk through this one spot in the megastructure

his voyage through the structure definitely took many years but he’s also immortal and none of his goals seem to necessitate timely action

All the above when you have the chance. Blame! Is a series I have on “to read” so my familiarity is lacking

Take your time. My eye “shit itself” last month and I’ve been just kind of dealing with that and thus mostly absent

Gotcha. I remembered the feat and the writer I guess is all

Still, who asked me to look? It was between you, Zen, or Raidou IIRC.

Short range is all he needs either way for a fight taking place over human scale distances tbh

ah ok

these are the translations from Blame and So on
as was said nihei doesn't do a lot of direct story telling so a lot of explanations come from side material.

I'll post some of the important bits but I recommend reading through it as it's pretty fascinating stuff in general

Essentially its a dyson sphere that reaches the edge of the solar system with the actually city portion only reaching jupiter

As for the GBE

had to omit some stuff in this passage cause it was more world building info but its entirety is available in the link.

You the next king of the pirates?

it was prob me since Zen would have just done it himself

I'll post him denting it when I can actually find the panels lol

but we had a calc that had the megastructure shrugging off teratons of energy without a scratch and his fists managed to do more damage to it

The feats less impressive then I remember and going through some old stuff apparently the bomb the megastructure took was debunked as being teratons

however it's still stated in Blame and So on the only thing getting through the megastructure walls is a GBE

and here we have Killy slamming a guy into it hard enough to dent it and then crushing his head with a punch

Pmuch the same as every other time he's tackled or slammed someone but this was toward the end of the manga after he got his upgrade and they were specifically inside a megastructure at this point. Though the same guy he killed seems to cut up some pillars and knock Killy through a few so the durability of the megastructure might be overstated. But it also managed to withstand Cibo teleporting a portion of a stars surface into a room about 16k km wide
