Luca Blight, the infamous warlord, faces Garou, the Hero Hunter. With Luca’s terrifying strength and ferocity against Garou’s martial prowess and adaptive evolution, who will come out on top? Both are at their strongest.

The battle takes place in a dense forest at night. They start 100 meters apart, both are bloodlusted, and neither knows the other’s abilities.

Extra Scenario: Luca Blight will wield the Beast Rune (despite never having wielded it, and the Rune being massive and its compatibility with humans unknown). They start 200 meters apart.

Luca Blight is considered one of the physically strongest characters in the Suikoden series (excluding Tierkreis). He is capable of overpowering both Riou and Jowy, each of whom wields a half of the Rune of Beginning, Riou possessing the Bright Shield Rune and Jowy the Black Sword Rune. Defeating Luca required meticulous planning and betrayal, involving entire armies. In the final confrontation, three separate parties from Riou’s army, each consisting of six members each engaged Luca. Notable figures included Luc, who bears the True Wind Rune (one of the 27 True Runes), and Viktor, who wields the Star Dragon Sword, the physical form of the Night Rune (another of the 27 True Runes).

True Runes, including Riou’s Bright Shield Rune and Jowy’s Black Sword Rune, are galaxy level in power, and all True Runes are equal in strength. Riou’s heal spell has a cosmic scope, conjuring the visage of war and strife before unleashing an attack visible from beyond the galaxy. Jowy’s rune, on the other hand, summons a multitude of magical black swords that assault enemies before sending them into the void, accompanied by stars and galaxies. Regular runes, while less potent, are still considered to be solar system level to multi-solar system level in power. An example of this is Zerase using the Star Rune to create countless stars in the universe. The Star Rune is a unique rune, also classified as a child rune. Child runes are children of the True Runes, normal runes which are also child runes you can buy from Rune Shops.

Luca himself wields only his sword and armor, along with flammable substances for fire-based attacks. Despite his lack of magical runes, he has immense physical strength and resilience. He is resistant to most elemental attacks, except wind, and immune to both sleep and death magic. He is also resistant to silence effects.

In the extra scenario, Luca Blight gains control of the Beast Rune, one of the 27 True Runes. Though he never wielded it in the storyline, Luca was deeply obsessed with it. All True Runes are aspects of the Rune of Beginning. The Beast Rune, like all True Runes, is a sentient entity with its own will and the power to alter fate. Bearers of True Runes are free from predestined fates, able to write their own destinies. The Beast Rune’s powers include the ability to draw out and control the violent emotions of others, using them as a means of manipulation. It can absorb the souls of an entire kingdom, contains a pocket dimension within itself that can send people too (which includes a moon), and can bring down the moon itself with its power.

The Beast Rune also allows Luca to summon golden wolves of varying sizes, unleash massive swarms of icicles, create bursts of lunar energy to damage enemies, and induce imbalance and confusion in foes. Additionally, it can put enemies to sleep instantly and nullify their ability to use magic through silence.

In these three gifs you can see the Bright Shield Rune shining outside the galaxy, and if you look close at Jowy's animation with his Black Sword Rune, you can see countless stars and what seems to be galaxies inside the void. The third gif you can see Zerase creating and igniting countless stars.

Riou's and Jowy's Runes are only half of a True Rune, while Zerase Rune is a child Rune. It's parent being the Night Rune via Star Dragon Sword.

It's uncertain if the Bright Shield Rune and the Black Sword Rune are the same entities responsible for the creation of the Suikoden universe. Since the ones who created it were called Shield and Sword.

"Sword" cut apart "Shield", and "Shield" broke "Sword" into pieces.

Fragments of "Sword" fell and became the sky. Fragments of "Shield" fell and became the earth. Sparks from the battle became the stars. The 27 jewels that adorned "Sword" and "Shield" became the "27 True Runes," and the World went into motion.
