Season 1 Uria, which Kagemaru used, would badly gimp Marik's deck, given how trap focused it is, given Uria can be summoned simply by sacrificing three traps(which don't have to be continuous) and auto nukes your face-downs if they're traps. Also nukes them if they're face-up, too.The only thing I remember about Kagemaru's are the Sacred Beasts and the fact Judai needed to use a broken anime card (which could become any card he wanted at the cost of half his life points, three times) to actually beat him. Mind you Judai has beaten Ra without shenanigans, but it was some rando scientist using it.
Provided Yami Marik isn't screwing around and he's playing at "Can push Atem to his limits for six episodes" level, then he should win. A closer match-up would be Yubel with her Sacred Beast Deck against Yami Marik as she had a lot more shit and probably wins.

Looking up the Sacred Beasts, it might be even worse because It doesn't even have to be a trap, Uriel just straight up nukes a face down for free and you can't activate other spells or traps in response.
Yeah I might have given Marik too much credit on the grounds of anime Ra being powerful. This is a pretty bad match-up for him.Marik's only shot at winning, is getting Ra out early, with enough attack to batter the sacred beasts and be at no risk of losing in battle itself, which isn't very likely. Especially given Uria can keep resurrecting with 1000+ attack points by just sending a trap to the grave(again, doesn't have to be continuous).ha
Don't forget this broken field spell, which will give Kagemaru considerable consistency for his deck, something that Yami Marik don't have (it's IRL version is just as broken and an integral part for Sacred Beast deck)![]()

Hamon will also be a pain in the ass because it forces you to attack it if it's in defense and reduces damage to 0 on the turn that it's destroyed. And it has 4k defense and only requires three spells being sacrificed for it.
Not to mention even if Marik did get a high atk Ra on the field, Raviel can boost itself by sacrificing the others (or the tokens his effect summons) to match or better ra.

You would need all three Egyptian Gods to hard counter the Sacred Beasts, I don't think any one of them would beat them alone.
So, we have Uria alone bodying most of Marik's deck as a hard counter, then add in the support cards and other sacred beasts, and unless Marik is getting miracle draws every turn while Kagemaru is getting nothing but bricks, Kagemaru should beat his ass.Don't forget this broken field spell, which will give Kagemaru considerable consistency for his deck, something that Yami Marik don't have (it's IRL version is just as broken and an integral part for Sacred Beast deck)

Yami Marik may have better chance if he gets Ra's latest IRL support cards like Sphere form and its associated spell and traps. So, we have Uria alone bodying most of Marik's deck as a hard counter, then add in the support cards and other sacred beasts, and unless Marik is getting miracle draws every turn while Kagemaru is getting nothing but bricks, Kagemaru should beat his ass.![]()
