..I'm going to assume you mean this as a negative for the game, given it is literally the same guy writing both series.

The game is 100% written by Kodaka, for better and for worse (Ultra Despair Girls haunts me to this day and even put Berleezy off the series before he could get to V3).
 
Thats why i compared it to Danganronpa. Of course i know the same guy made it. and yes its a negative, Danganronpa I could at least tolerate the dialogue to an extent cause it wasnt too out there. But this shit is outrageous. And the more I hear from someone who actually played the game the more put off I am by this shit.

Backlash was just okay, last year's was way better.

I thought we were gonna get Hikuleo's debut in the opening US title match, I gotta say that I wasn't expecting Jeff Cobb. I get that he's Hawaiian so he's Samoan adjecant and at least makes some sense but still, they've had Hikuleo for over half a year at least so when is he debuting?

Most of the crowd also didn't know who it was (there was a few "Holy Shit" chants) so it sparked confusion but I got the feeling that was the intent as even Jacob was confused.

Now I have to admit that I DID NOT see them having Lyra actually retain the IC title here and I have mixed feelings about it. One the one hand it was a really good match and showed how highly they value Lyra. One the other hand, kicking out of two finishers from Becky Lynch seems a little much for Lyra right now. Having Lyra lose would also have gotten the crowd behind her more.

It seemed like the ending might have been a pivot because Lyra missed the exposed turnbuckle she was supposed to hit and they didn't want her to lose clean. At least it was a roll up in a situation that warranted one but I have to assume Becky will (and frankly should) win the next match, otherwise what was the point of her going heel in the first place?

Dom vs Penta was just okay, don't have much to say about it.

Gunther vs Pat should have been more brutal than it ended up being and I'm not sure what we're doing with Gunther showing respect for him at the end. The dude is too good at playing the vile bastard heel to be backing off from it now.

Cena vs Orton was pretty much what I think everyone expected it would be, including the formal introduction of R-Truth being the guy who will incidentally keep the title on Cena for the foreseeable future. I'd say it went a little too long but otherwise I don't have much to complain about.

Best match of the night goes to the opening 4 way for the US title, best single's match to Lyra and Becky.

I'm probably the only person in existence who actually found UDG to be fun

Granted, i don't even remember what the plot was like, but the gameplay at least was pretty original imo
