Qanik Settlement

Situated along the edge of a protective bay, Qanik Settlement is a thriving community of around 500 people. The town is constructed from ice, stone, and wood, forming sturdy structures designed to withstand the harsh elements. Geothermal springs dot the area, providing warmth and sustaining patches of vegetation. The people of Qanik are skilled hunters, craftsmen, and waterbenders who live in harmony with their environment, guided by traditions rooted in respect for spirits and the elements. The settlement serves as a central hub for trade, gathering, and cultural exchange among the scattered tundra communities.

Effects on Region:
  • Daytime: Waterbenders draw strength from the geothermal springs and nearby ocean waters, making them formidable in combat or healing. Firebenders can sustain small flames due to geothermal warmth, while airbenders benefit from the rising steam and shifting air currents. Earthbenders remain limited due to the icy terrain (+10 to all waterbending & firebending).
  • Nighttime: The settlement's geothermal warmth provides some relief from the cold, bolstering waterbenders' stamina and aiding airbenders' movements. Firebenders' abilities are weakened, while non-benders rely on the settlement's warmth and safety (+20 to all waterbending & +10 to all firebending).
