18.5 cm / 300 nanoseconds = 616,666.667 m/s (~Mach 1, 812). What a Marvelously unholy number. Is Maphisto trying to strike a bargain or something. Because I'm not...NOT down.
Given that I'm using the extremes here, a mach 200 average wouldn't be ...(wait for it)...shocking. This makes sense, since lightning and statc electricity are, for all intents-and-purposes, the same phenomena on different scales.
I actually think it's pretty silly that we let verses with multiple showing of characters reacting to electric attacks sit at supersonic or lower. Verses like Inuyasha get done so dirty.
People act like that, because it is a natural phenomena, lighting is more consistent or something. Which is an odd jump in logic. Lightning strikes aren't special, they're building level discharges of static electricity. If we can simply apply the mach 200 average to every lightning strike, not applying it to comparable electric discharges is crazy inconsistent.
