It can invite it, or it could look like he wants to invite it - as you said, it stands to potentially benefit Poyser which by itself can do the opposite if people read into it a certain way. That is, after all, the defining characteristic of WIFOM - it's circular.

I'll join you here in blaming him.As an aside, if Poyser is town I'm going to just blame Ultra I think for completely railroading the whole game. I was thinking on who was responsible for us being stuck in a thread state I thought was unfavourable Day 1 and my answer is it is wholly due to Ultra and his tunneling. It might seem unfair to put the agency of other players onto him but he really gave no room for quarter for anything else, and I think scum killed him because it helps to play down that narrative and he has made himself useful for them besides.
