While I'm all for seeing this Black Myth Su Wu Kong dude flex and clown all over Kratos and his sorry excuse of a shitty verse based on Greek mythology:

I'm actually skeptical with regards to the idea that the ancient mythology that a video game is based on can be canon to a piece of modern-day media like it. Especially for nerd scaling and debating purposes.

Can any game developer out there just truly declare that the composite lore of an original mythology and the game they're basing their inspired source material on are both somehow absolutely equivalent in canonicity status?
