Im disappointed with BM´s finisher and not using awakening
I like how Big Mom went out tanking things like a motherfucker but Oda not showing off awakening much in general this arc is one of the few low points for me.
Introduced that shit with Doffy, and I think we've only seen it like one other time after that or something, unless I'm misremembering, and that's it.
Starting to feel more and more like a concept that Oda just pulled out of his ass, which was never planned at all. Still miles better than whatever the fuck is going on with the canon DBS fanfic manga, though.

then it shows up with Doffy and Katakuri and was basically turning the environment into your devil fruit
then it got changed with Law and Kid to just being an extra special power unlocked
So it definitely seems like he didn't have a clear idea how he wanted it to function until now
imo he should've left it out of the Doffy fight entirely, and introduced it with Katakuri which would've added to Katakuri's general hype
I think this still means affecting your environment tho
Law can create rooms in other objects. He made a K-Room for his Sword, and a R-Room on Bigger Mom
Kid can basically Assign magnetism to other objects. Literally make them magnetic.
The only real exception to the Rule is Kid’s Rail Gun

I actually think It's good he showcased it in the Doffy battle. Doffy was a long awaited villain and the first real villain of the New World. He needed to have something serious in his arsenal to put him on another level from the previous villains. Awakening probably varies depending on how the specific of he DF.
Katakuri was used to introduce us with FS and pretty much advanced CoA as well, except the latter wasn't officially introduced at that point and was saved for Kaido, but it was blatantly clear Katakuri was using a whole other level of CoA. At the end of the day, the Haki difference was more significant.

Also, talking about environmental awakening - can't wait for Luffy to make Onigashima bounce off the capital using his awakening and have Kaido make a surprised Enel face. This is almost guaranteed to happen. It's definitely something Oda would pull.
We have to remember Oda is also a tease, he'll use an ability one time and then not use it ever. It would have been cool if BM tried to steal his crew's souls and law threw it back into their body.
He might just want to save BM awakening for Elbaf

I think she does have awakening, but it's just not outright stated which one of her abilities is the result of awakening.
Big Mom has so much variety with her abilities, that I’m not mad she didn’t show her awakening
Oda is probably saving her best abilities for when she comes to Elbaf
She’s really got some insane abilities. I hope Luffy takes her down properly in a real 1v1
I think of Dorry and Broggy,
And can’t help but believe that Elbaf will be a culmination of many different things

Big Mom has a bone to pick with Kid and Law, yes
she also has a bone to pick with Luffy
and Loki has a bone to pick with Big Mom
Too many narrative threads have been established to come to Elbaf
this isn’t including Shank’s Viking Ship being connected to Elbaf
and Kid’s grudge against Shanks
and Ussop’s desire to go to Elbaf because he admires their warrior ways
Nah, its still fundamentally what it was introduced as
Just that its more abstract than making shit strings or mochi as we lack visual indication of its effects without action taken.
Kid's awakening transforms anything into magnetism. Law's makes whatever he wants into a room. Law's is harder to grasp because the distinction seems nonexistent without remembering his normal rooms have an epicenter fixed around Law's position as opposed to focused on any random object instead.
