If only more people said the same thing about modern shonen jump and battle shonencrap being over-played out for anime/manga and needing to bring back much better action-oriented anime akin to these 80's movies:

That's 'cause it's not really the same situation. I'm pretty sure you can still find those "better anime" if you look for them, they still get made, they just aren't the mainstream ones that get a lot of attention like the battle shounen's do (it's always been that way). The latter making for much better entry points to get people into anime.

Whereas the Stylish/Hack n Slash genre have damn near been fazed out of existence by this near endless stream of soulslikes we get nowadays. They seem deathly afraid to even make the former anymore.

Watching AEW Dynamite, one of the commentators just called Will Ospreay "one of the most popular athletes....in ALL sport." :jordangif

Even saying he's one of the most popular names in Wrestling is a bold-faced lie as really only the people who watch everything know who the fuck he is. To be one of the most popular names in Sport as a whole, you'd actually need to be well known even OUTSIDE of your sport.

I mean I've never watched Boxing outside of movies but I still know who Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, Tyson Fury and the like are. Say Will Ospreay's name to someone whose never watched Professional Wrestling a day in their lives and their reaction is more than likely going to be "WHO?"

I know he's your golden boy Tony but keep your commentator's glazing actually reasonable for fuck's sake. :heston

WWE does the same shit so that isn't really a big deal. Tony's failure is these guys a reason to exist beyond having "good matches."

NO MORE SUPERHERO MOVIES.

Ah so the point of your post is that the video game genre you prefer is being stamped out and ignored on the developer's list of priorities for a much-deserved revival?

Yep, I may not personally like Soulslike games as much (generally too nihilistic in terms of story, lacking an actual character in the lead role, having to look for the story to understand everything and still being vague about a lot of it etc.) but I obviously can't deny they're popular for a reason.

I would just prefer they also make Stylish/Hack n Slash action games as well as Soulslikes. Stellar Blade actually does feel like a decent mix of the two styles but I would just like to have both options available.
