wow nice galo
Sadly even Atelier feel for the retardation of "people don't want turn-based", they listed it as one of the reasons they dropped turn-based in the last games since they wanted "wider audience"There also WERE other turn-based games in this period such as the Atelier series, even ones that did really well such as Persona. It's just that Final Fantasy had moved away from it, with no real justification for doing so.
Yeah I know which is ludicrous to me when you had not one but four separate turn-based Atelier trilogies (Iris, Arland, Dark and Mysterious), two of which were even quadrilogies that were all successful and popular in their own right (hence the multiple sequels they all got) and yet they still bought into this shit.Sadly even Atelier feel for the retardation of "people don't want turn-based", they listed it as one of the reasons they dropped turn-based in the last games since they wanted "wider audience"
Yep Eiyuden is very much Suikoden except in name they basically gave it a name that wouldn't get them a lawsuit but close enough that you would think about suikoden practically. That's nice
Never played Suikoden, though I did recently get Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, which I believe was made by the same people as the Suikoden games. Enjoyed what I've played of that so far.
I mean 12, 13 and 13-2 still had turn based combat in a sense, in that the ATB was still a thing (granted with more real time elements) so it's not like we got NOTHING in this period. It's after 13-2 where they cease to even be turn-based adjacent.
There also WERE other turn-based games in this period such as the Atelier series, even ones that did really well such as Persona. It's just that Final Fantasy had moved away from it, with no real justification for doing so.
Expedition 33 is just the final nail in the coffin of ANY argument that you can't make a movie-like cinematic adventure with turn-based combat (which of course is their main excuse) and have it sell well.
To be clear Lightning Returns, FFXV and FFXVI are still not BAD games. Two of them I'd even say are still pretty good games (and the other I've still not played enough of to judge for myself), but we're really seeing more and more that the decision to move and keep moving away from turn-based combat was just a bad one, it just was.
Just tell me the number of europeans we need to sacrifice![]()

TEN MILLION LIVES SAVED AT THE COST OF A MERE MILLION
The game has a strong emphasis on reactionary defence (ie dodges and parries) so it's gonna scratch that itch for enjoyers of souls likes. Especially given the design of some of the bosses is extremely reminiscent of Souls games.I just saw a video by Ongbal, who is like the Sekiro youtuber, playing the Expedition 33 game. His uploader comment is "wow never thought I'd like a turn-based game this much"
They're breaking through to the core action game audience![]()
