Oh, this thread was bumped last week...
I'm unbanned on Fan Verse. Rinoa unbanned me. I like posting on there, but I'm not so sure how long the forum will last. This forum seems like it will overshadow it eventually in the time frame of 2-3 years.

Plenty of off shoot forums start out like this. The Millennium Forums did, and it became lively as Hell during 2015-2018. Fan Verse will only continue to dwindle in activity level, while One Last Forum on the other hand has a bright future ahead of it. Going by the pattern I see on forums, there will definitely be an influx of new registrations, and speculating it to be during the mid 2020s or in the timeframe of 2024-2026 honestly isn't a far off thought.

It's not delusional, it's up in the air.
If OLF continues like this, has a tight-knit community, no, it won't thrive.
Which is why social media and advertising and adapting relations with other sites and forums for exposure will help. IF that helps, then it has the potential to become far more lively. Will it be as lively as TMF? Nah. Golden age has past. Forums are niche. That's okay.
We also need to do original user-created content, not just from OBDers, but members who are creative with videos and reviews that need to stand out from other reviews. Comedy reviews, screencap parody summaries of shows, animes, games, and so on.
Maybe have a night dedicated to reviewing the worst possible games, shows, etc and having to play them, maybe even stream the reactions.
Stuff like that.

I don't think you understand that this place is probably never gonna attract a newer and Younger audience, I am Probably the youngest person here.
Fanverse itself only survives because of the fact that it used to be the default Weeb forum before MAL got big, OBD being one of the first Battleboard communities and OL being the "Default" One Piece forum from 2010 something to Orojackson replacing it. Without those things Mbxx Probably would have pulled the Plug a long time ago due to lack of activity.
it basically relies on the Mid Life Crisis of 30 something balding men who are trying to relive their childhood/young adult years in the forum.
And this place is probably worse in that regard because there isn't anything here to set it apart from Fanverse besides "Post here to piss off Mbxx".
And let's be honest here, Most FV users don't give a shit about what Mbxx is doing, he could literally IP ban all users who posted in the Blender and 95% Of the Userbase wouldn't even notice.
And the fact that this place is filled with old people will hurt it's image, like do you think the Average JJK loving E-girl from twitter would come here? Or the average IShowSpeed watching Zoomer would come here?
Because those are the type of people who love Shounen these days and most of them would never come here (Or FV for that matter which is why it relies on balding losers for activity)

NF was already dying well before MAL popped up. "Peak" NF was like circa 2007-2010 or whatever you want to call its golden age in that period, and besides how would you know the average age of the average poster here or on FV? Do you think everyone here is as old as martyrn and Spy_Smasher or EvilMoogle? Most of the people on here are people who came from NF that joined after 2010 anyways with few exceptions.

Forums struggle now because of discord groups and servers blowing up since 2015, That's why Skype died and barely anyone uses TeamChat/Speak anymore.
People want to join here, they can join here.
But you are definitely wrong that there wasn't constant push back on Mbxx's policies with the staff or especially with the userbase. The entire site was taken back when he changed NF's site name and domain id and he was told this and still ignored it thinking the opposite of the truth.
For the love of god, don't start with condescending shit to me--you went in with this "fAcE rEaliTy" mentality with Yoshi and you are doing it with me, but I am not delusional; I'm explaining how it works, and being very realistic about the future of this forum.
You also incorrectly assumed that "big" meant as "big as MAL or reddit." No. Big by current niche forums. Which is obviously not big.

4. See the above and do be sure to remind yourself I've used niche more than once for a reason. Most forums like these ones tend to attract "old" or older people. I do not expect a teenage girl or geriatric to come here, because they make up tons of the actual population. For people on forums? For people on specific or niche forums like these? Of course it won't attract geriatrics or living hormones.
These demographics aren't relevant to these types of communities, so no, it doesn't hurt our image. What does hurt our image is number 3.
5. This is not intended to be a shounen or anime forum. This is an assumption made by the weebs currently here, and because of users originating from another site. It currently lacks a more concrete identity that needs to be made after recruitment. Also requires multiple hooks for various things, not just one.
