Now I don’t care a whole lot for TTGL as a series, but the notion that an entire anime set around a giant cosmic-sized mech that throws around galaxies like playthings is somehow grounded is quite honestly inaccurate as it is baffling.

No, the 4D imps in DC do the same thing the Drama CD does (cross between fiction and reality) but to a greater extent.
