Well yeah, obviously but in most cases there are at least a few characters (other than the MC) that get a lot of shine. I was merely pointing out that most of the time few, if any, of those characters tend to be female outside of a few exceptions. So while you could certainly say most characters, regardless of gender, don't get treated well in Shounen, it's kind of undeniable that female characters tend to get an even shorter end of that stick.

I mean though her comment is retarded given who she played, it is still kind of a problem with a lot manga/anime, in particularly shounen. Rosario + Vampire, Claymore, Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tail and now Ghost Reaper Girl exist sure but they're exceptions and not really the rule.

FUCK CHOCOBO RACING IN FINAL FANTASY X! :expepe At least the balloon catching, bird dodging variety anyway. At least with the temple race, it's just something you have to get good at to get all five chests and win the race. With the other one, no matter what, there is a significant amount of PURE FUCKING LUCK that is required to get that 0.0 time score. Between needing the balloons to line up the right way, for the trainer to get hit and stay behind you, for the birds not to cheese you. I've never seen a mini-game in a Final Fantasy more blatantly designed to be as annoying as possible. Worst of it being that it's necessary to make Tidus' celestial weapon usable. I liked him in the 90's cartoon, but it was also pretty obvious he's not headliner material. Just because Venom worked (because he's fucking Venom) doesn't mean every random Spider-Man character would make for a good solo movie.

The earlier designs were effeminate yeah, but they were still clearly male, he did NOT straight up look like a woman like he does in Strive.
