That last line about how the creative team doesn't refer to IQ as an AU and instead as something 'possibly canon' in order to feel more inclusive makes me think that the Creative Team realizes RWBY: IQ is going to be a better show and are pretending they had a hand in it.

More RWBY things, really just fucking overcomplicating everything, but from how it's worded I feel like the RWBY team are trying to pretend that the Japanese anime is also their work, despite the fact it probably isn't.

Yes, it is an AU, my point is that the scene @Papa Nier is talking about isn't a part of the 'original story', and was in RWBY V1.

Yes, but episodes 1-2 of the anime are apparently going to be recaps of V1 and V2 of the original RWBY. The scene your talking about is from the original V1 of RWBY.

This isn't actually part of the AU. It's from V1, though Ruby wasn't as meanspirited, and Weiss wasn't that affected by her words as the anime portrays it.

Hopefully, the Japanese writers can stave off the worst aspects of these writers. But my hope for this show has gone down considerably.

Also, it's going to be a tv show with the first few episodes being a recap of V1-V2. And is "canon-adjacent" and takes place in the original RWBY world, it's not an AU or whatever though while staying faithful to canon it isn't. And it's gonna release in the summer. ...Well, that part about the RWBY writers also working on it completely soured the hope I had in the show.
