Btw 1954 has the best face design. Nearly all of Godzilla's designs are symmetrical (even shin), and while looking awesome doesn't really fit the idea of mutated creature. But this one, the crooked jaw and bumps on its face sells the look completely. Analog horror Godzilla eat your heart out, you can never come close to how terrifying this looks :maybe

However its not all bad. Steven Martin isn't as bad of a character as I expected. And I kinda liked the take this movie had on Godzilla being a spectacle. Also giving Serizawa's sacrifice a somber tone unlike the original.

@NostalgiaFan Just finished the American version of Godzilla. Was better than I expected. Gets like an 7/10 from me. My bones to pick with it are. -The movie being narrated like a documentary took me out. One of the good parts about the original was that you get invested in the narrative and how it feels like it's happening at the same time your watching. It being narrated changed that into feeling like something that already happened which lessened the impact. -Audio seemingly being muted. It wasn't noticable in the first half, but during the scene where the mother is crying with her children during Godzilla's rampage, I could barely hear anything, this isn't a problem in the original version so I'm pretty sure this was the movie. -Serizawa's role being reduced. He went from a soldier who lost an eye in WW2, who then became a scientist to do some good in the world only to find something just as bad as a nuke. To Martin's scientist friend. Just finished Godzilla 1954. (it took three days cause I kept getting interrupted) Entire movie is a 10/10, I was originally going to put it at 9/10 but the Aftermath of Godzilla's rampage and Serizawa's sacrifice won me over. Anyway my thoughts. First half of the movie is a 9/10, which is like the first 50 minutes is good. The beginning is a great opener. Seeing the sea boil and ships being destroyed by Godzilla. And the scene with Godzilla overlooking the Mount Hachiba on Ohto Island was similarly an awesome scene, we don't see his full body but his crooked maw is horrifying and ugly and just great work on the suit. Now here comes my only criticism with this movie. I found the melodrama with Professor Yamane not wanting the military to kill Godzilla, and the love triangle with Emiko, Serizawa, and Ogata boring. It's not a big part of the first half and I might be overblowing it, but it just fell flat to me, not to say it's atrociously bad, but it's just boring. Of course...

I only went out once to watch the barbie movie. I did want to watch G: Minus One but the times already passed so I may as well wait for Blu-ray.

Maybe at like, the very beginning of the story. But the MA arc and fight with Garou throws that out by giving Saitama limits.
