Fate is a genuinely boring series with a bland art style - direction of which is riddled with waifu-bait and piles upon piles of exposition which is more than enough to turn someone off from getting into the series rather than just defaulting to the OG mythological versions. When a series is carried by exposition with no visible downtime between each descriptive explanation then I just don't consider it worth the effort. That's a real hot-take.
