Not gonna deny that the camera would be bad in those days but Nineball Sereph is considered one of the hardest bosses in the franchise's history so I don't think it feels fair to use that fight as an example. Wouldn't the ps2 games be different than the ones on ps1?
I just looked into that shit on /co/ (yeah shit can be cringe but there are always diamonds in the rough) and that was one of the many mentions of dark shit in cartoons back in the day. Even had a picture of the guy with his jaw falling off.
Meh, I prefer the 2003 Shredder before the retcon where he was just a tough as hell guy in sick looking armor than just an alien head controlling a robot. If anything just having him not "die" as often would fix the issue with having him surviving all the time or just make him supernatural instead. Yeah just got back from reading that and it sounds cooler to me than just having him be an alien while being different enough to make him interesting while providing a good reason for him to come back from death.
