Sasuke gets more hate because he got more praise “in-universe” than Naruto did at Part 1. So while they are both orphans and you could argue that Sasuke had the more traumatic experience, he never received any scorn from the people around him and eventually got friends. So when he does push everyone away for revenge you kinda stop feeling as bad for his situation, and it’s just a story about a decent character—if even that— just becoming a worse and worse person. Not just that but he also completely changed the entire goal of the story. The story now centered around him just as much as it did Naruto and that didn’t elevate the story or make him a deeper character. Also Vegeta got more punishment for his misdeeds, despite the fact that a lot of his misdeeds are more easily reversible than Sasuke’s thanks to the Dragon Balls.
