Pre Human History? Cambrian followed by Carboniferous. During recorded human history? Ancient Egypt or Ancient Greek followed by WW1/2. Medieval times seem way too explored at this point although my fellow bulgarians have a certain strong affection for the period we were an empire to the point most school mates knew every ruler, tsar, khan etc by name as well as major and minor dates. I'm more interested in the culture and scientific breakthroughs of older times than anything else, politics and wars are not my thing.
