I'd rather we NOT become like SB though, there needs to be moderation for that type of shit. Agreed.

Oh boy, don't even get me started on Sasuke or how he ultimately damaged Naruto's character beyond repair... When even Kishimoto admits he made bother characters look insane while trying to parallel their "friendship" with his fellow twin brother who basically estranged himself from Masashi... I can see why he wants nothing to do with him if this is how he interprets it.

Honestly, I find tasteless murder(killing off characters without reason or purpose) to be as bad as tasteless rape(rape done for the sake of it) and it's been that way ever since I have noticed how many characters(male or female) tend to due just for shock value and how many people tend to overcoddle rape(not just senseless rape but rape done for actual gravitas) being in a story at all. It's why yeah, I can see why you would have an issue with OG Shiki Tohno and Asagami Fujino's backstory since you can literally replace them entirely and it wouldn't affect their characters much(I mean yeah, Fujino was trying to take revenge on them and it spilled over hard but still)... but in comparison to Sakura's, they feel needless and doesn't really build them up. But for the genocidal stuff, yeah, we literally cannot process that level of death without downplaying it or we would be tomatoes so unless we put a face to Vegeta's genocides(like if we explicitly saw him kill a family and it was...

Not a bad idea considering Blade did it for Jolyne and got Part 6 on the same level, if not slightly faster than Part 3

I think they actually are there but it's more of having to go truly deep to get that(and then scale it to the Vampires who would also scale to it).

Decent hot takes: I'd rather wanted a true sequel to Tenchu rather than Sekiro, hell, I would rather take a complete remake of Tenchu than Sekiro I fully believe the Remake to Resident Evil 2 is overrated and further shows how lazy Capcom has gotten I utterly despise Saints Row 3 and 4 for basically destroying the semblance of actual identity SR 1 and 2 had just so it can be more "zany and out there" I still have some level of hope for the current Gaming Industry... primarily the Japanese and Indie side. I think the later Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors/Warriors Orochi games get a real bad rap I believe Dead or Alive is seriously too ignored in the OBD outside of Ryu Hayabusa I feel like I'm the only fucker who remembers the Lufia series.

The real problem with a story being "political" is that most writers these days that do it don't understand at all how it's supposed to work. Yes, stories can be political and alot of the best known stories ARE political to some degree... but here's where the point ultimately is: A political story never dates itself, it's as timeless as the topic they want to address. Animal House is the biggest example of this as even if you don't know the time period it's referring to, it's still very obvious what it ultimately means just by reading it but it doesn't date itself by full out mentioning what happened and who did it. The Lorax is another example by never pointing out what company the Once-ler is a part of or even who he is because that wasn't as important as the overall destruction of the forest due to sheer greed of corporations. Dr. Seuss has been constantly about this without ever dating themselves once. Now you get terrible stories where Donald Trump is all but mentioned(either...

The fuck Type-Moon have to do with any of this?! And last I checked, most of that shit is literally in it's own continuity and people only tell you to read LN Fate/Stay Night first for Fate if you want to know the mechanics of the Universe or whatever the fuck you want otherwise.

Oh no, I'm not going to fight against the old shit as I meant modern times actually so I ultimately agree with your point. Yep, and it's a fucking shame we don't even have that anymore and instead just have shitty scenes that feel like they came from a scene description from a DVD player.

That last part I would disagree with(even the most shitty Shonen Artist can still make far better art cheography than most Western Comic Artists) but everything else I can agree with. In the past, we had far better artists who gave a shit on the Western Side who cared about cheography and motions, now outside of extremely rare people, it's pretty much the Japanese and Chinese that really do it better.

True but it's pretty damn evident that Superhero Comics completely lost that artform decades ago and barely even want to try. Shonen isn't that much better(Naruto was used in a negative context because he also sucks at it) but it really speaks volumes on how bad it has gotten in the area of just not trying vs. Not even beginning to learn from Akira Toriyama.

Really looking at something, it really shows how much we lost when don't even have basic cohesion anymore in fight scenes outside of rare moments: The former? From the 60's. The latter? The 80's. Simple cohesion and flow in a fight scene that wouldn't be out of place in a shonen manga. Meanwhile, how many fight scenes have we've seen now in the modern day that isn't just this: 3 Disconnected Scenes that feel like you got it from a Novel rather than actually feel like a cohesive scene. I found this out from somewhere else but when you really look at it... it really shows you more of the major failings of American Superhero Comics including the fact that very few artists even care for making a cohesive fight scene. Even Mahashi Kishimoto has done cohesive fight scenes and does them far better than most modern American Comics, hell, so has MHA... And when you think about that, no wonder people treat that as the actual Superhero series to back than American Comics.

Like I said before, it's very much possible but modern day writers squander the living fuck out of it to the point it's clearly obvious the corporations don't care as they are hoping Hollywood takes the wheel entirely(despite the boom reaching it's end a year ago). The main way it gets better is through a renaissance of indies or Marvel and DC losing their copyright status and others taking over at this point.

I did that unironically because I 100% believe the American Comics Industry is that fucking awful currently and has been for awhile.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/is-the-superhero-boom-starting-to-get-stale-should-it-be-reinvented.1027044/ Even Spacebattles has people primarily knowing and agreeing that the superhero boom is finally reaching the point where it's basically stale. Their reasons maybe different all-round but it's still the same consensus in the end.

Which was needed DECADES ago. Really thinking of American Superhero Comics the biggest cause of their fall... was the fact that they refused to actually change their approach. Like you can do stories that never stop, we see that in newspapers all the time... the problem is that they completely removed that approach around the 90's and refused to have the characters actually age, grow or new characters slowly get the buildup they need to actually earn their spot. You still had multiple writers when that's a trainwreck waiting to happen when it would have been best to only have one writer do just one storyline or stick to their character. For all of Manga and Anime's faults, there's very rarely someone swapping in for the author unless they died and they wanted the series to continue under someone else; There's very rarely consequences that don't matter because another writer came in and wanted to use a character and completely destroy the point of a good arc(Kid Loki is the biggest...

It's a little more complicated than that but whatever. Yep and you can see how American Media is NOT taking it well by putting Manga in with Graphic Novels and then saying there's such a massive spike in sales and Comics aren't dying due to it. :oldryoma Like goddamn, seeing American Comic fans basically bitch about it is becoming an artform. The biggest problem I've seen with American Comic Books is the fact that they haven't figured out that the constant resets to the Status Quo has officially done readers a terrible hand and they left due to it. The Constant Crises that never matter after a few months, the constant abuse of new and "better" legacy heroes with no proper buildup or reason to care, Superheroes people know and love continue to get bastardized by shitty writers, deaths that don't matter at all because they will be resurrected in the next storyline, villains continue to be hardcore killers that kill thousands to show how much of a "real threat they are" yet heroes...

It's honestly gonna fucking die soon and it's ironic too: Trump gave Twitter far more clout when he was President and they pissed that away instantly when they perma-banned him. Then Jack Dorsey left when Stockholders asked him to REPLICATE those years or they will back off because of course he couldn't. Now it's basically Twitter went full retard accepting Elon's offer when he was NEVER going to fix Twitter and was just gonna get his shit wet AND potentially fuck them over so bad, he'll only need to pay pennies at best. It's like when people thought Reddit can make money when they can't.
