The funny part is that most games that have those analogues... aren't even doing it intentionally. Japan is primarily more agnostic towards Religion as a whole(including Shintoism) and while it allows them to do what they feel when it comes to various religions... they usually end up being very gray or just evil because of misunderstandings(Breath of Fire 2 is hilarious in this case as while there is a Religion, a Church and Evil, it was a setup by the equivalent of the Devil the whole time).
