Blame!

And since I apparently lack the necessary verbal ability to express my itching love for Blame! for the past 14 years seeing how I didn't manage to get even a single person to read it back on NF here's some channel I never knew about explaining it better I hope.

One thing I do absolutely agree with these guys is avoid the Netflix adaptation until you've read the manga.

someday i'll finish it

the backgrounds are so fucking good. also find it funny that the author did a short comic for that halo graphic novel lol

one of my favorite manga ever, though to this day I don't understand anything after the weird time travel bit

Definitely

Don't forget NOiSE which was a prequel for Blame

though you should probably save it for after you go through the series proper

Vaguely remember reading some of it. Art is pretty rough. Cool setting
The first half has some rough art for sure but never when it comes to the environment which is arguably as much of a key character as either of the "heroes". Though in the latter half the art becomes even better, it's the opposite of Biomega where the art takes a dive considerably midway...

Reread it maybe? :catwink

I'll deffo get on it bro. My backlog is ever expanding lol but eventually I'll get round to it
Do Franken Fran too :LOS

Is it better than Gantz?
I was really into Gantz back in the day but that manga depends so much on the shock factor is becomes more of a hindrance than strength, Blame! is more subtle and atmospheric which works for some but not for all. If you expect everything to be explained or a lot of character dialogue you'll be disappointed. I think Nihei himself compared it to a cyber dungeon crawler and I think that fits it perfectly, it's just a small story in a huge world.

also want to add that from i read of it, i did not understand a damn thing
That's the spirit! :cattap

me and @Uoruk were recommending blame, biomega and abara, a lot back in the 2009-2012 era

amazing series, people who haven't read them, should read them, asap
I was battling for years if I like Biomega more since biopunk deserves way more love than the ever present cyberpunk but you know the true winner.

I have yet to check Knights of Sidonia :hm

I never finished KoS tbh. Didnt feel it was as strong as his other works and the slow release at the time didnt help.
