Aside from the Syndicate game I linked, there are other examples where I strive to vote myself out so the tunnellers can re-assess. It is the general rule that when I play with people who have no experience with how I solve, I will be death tunnelled until the game is over. It has been like that since at least 2016. Out of those games only one tunneller has managed to go away from the tunnel, but it took three day phases. Every single time they are town. There are instances where I get death tunnelled for weeks regardless of my game results. It completely throws off my game.
I've tried several methods. None of them works and in the end I get distracted from solving. I am super bad at solving in that sort of context, since 99% of my other reads will be based on tilt and grandstanding. Knowing that I will be misyeeted gives me the peace of mind to go back to solving. So no, fmpov I am not being dramatic or over the top. This is a cold logical solution. Like, idk how many times I have had this exact conversation. I have also seen it in games I have specced, where town declare death tunnels and eventually loses the game because of it. If someone says they will tunnel me until death, then I will try to die as fast as possible so the game can move on from it.
