Cal Kestis (Jedi Survivor) vs. RWBY (RWBY)

Cal Kestis, after becoming a massive Chad Thundercock, and going raw into Merrin and never pulling out, has now set his sights on Beacon Academy. I am not going to pretend I have been keeping up with RWBY, because that is absolute garbage. Worse than dare I say it, Neon Genesis Evangelion. So I will not comment on that side of the argument. I will however bring up anything for Cal Kestis.

Cal Kestis is literally Disney's only hope at good content right now

He's basically Kyle Katarn at this point
Didn't like the first one, but Jedi Survivor fixed all the problems I had with it. All of them.

Made Cal nuanced and complex. The strain of his futile battle against the empire grating on him. Desperation and grief turning him to the dark side at several points. Cere developing as a mentor, no longer looking like a bug-eyed fish person, and going out like a champ against Darth Vader. Though obviously Darth Vader was gonna win? She made him work for it. Merrin going all in with Cal, being an actual asset especially during big boss fights.

The brutality getting turned up to eleven. Cal going on murder sprees against empire grunts, and it goes into detail how savage he was because his psychometry is pretty good. You get to hear the aftermath and carnage through the force. The cameos are cooler. The fights are cooler. The plot twists are great. Bode as a villain is perfect, and how he dies to Cal was amazing.

Cal in general is just a completely different person. Gone is the naive padawan. Now he is a ruthless killer. At points he behaved just like a Sith Lord would, but never quite fell completely.

Even Fallen Order Cal would be murking anything short of the Brother Gods, Survivor Cal simply isn't going to be as merciful or nice about it.

I do like how even from the start of Survivor, they have him fight the Ninth Sister who he spared in the first game (or at least wasn't thorough in making sure she was dead), gives her ONE chance to back down and then promptly kills a bitch when she doesn't comply.

Nicely sets the tone for the rest of that game.

This has people's jimmies rustled all over, they don't think she should have done as well as she did. :mjpls

Though the other side's defense of it is arguably even dumber than people having a problem with it. Simply saying "she's a Jedi Master after all" as if simply being a Jedi Master has ever been enough to not get humiliated by Vader (Suit or no Suit).

Like it's funny how they miss the actual reason, which is that in the 1st game she was coming out of a lengthy period of having cut herself off from the force completely, so she wasn't at full power to begin with. She had several years to re-acclimatize herself with the Force and as she said, she "let go of her fear" of turning to the Dark Side. That's GONNA make a big difference.

Actually, reading TvTropes, Vader wasn't being serious at all and was trying to break her since she was displaying the Dark Side the last he saw of her and wanting to bend her to his will.
By the time she actually started damaging him, THEN he started playing for keeps.
So basically, it was more Vader wanting to try and pull a Palpatine and failed and got injured for it, not her being as good as him.

There IS an element of that sure as he does a lot of one-handed fighting earlier on in the fight and visibly fights a lot harder after she drops the wall of Jedi files on him, BUT even after that she's still able to land a couple hits and force him to the wall.

She pushed him hard enough that he had to exploit a mistake from her to kill her (she jumped at him and charged mid-air, allowing him to catch her on his lightsaber as she approached, grabbing hers with his armored hand to avoid her own strike) and he visibly struggled to get up and limp away.

I mean she's definitely not ON his level as he still overpowered her for the most part but she ain't THAT much weaker than him either.

You know at this point they're pushing or leading up to Cal vs Vader

Assuming the next game may be the final one, he's either going to die or fade into obscurity

Hell it's like a movie in video game format

and surprisingly it made up for Fallen Order

Hell I may just play it again to get the feel of things

Disney Vader is quad digit to possibly rel reactions and somewhere between kiloton to potentially gigaton force abilities IIRC

even getting a fraction of that would massacre them as of V8

That’s also just the really early Disney shit

Didn’t keep up to know if he ever did anything beyond creating barriers strong enough to block Proton Torpedoes.

Or if those Proton Torpedoes scale to anything better.

I want to say with almost 80% certainty there hasn't even been a good feat since obi wan, but that would involve actually watching most of the new series
