Hey, we had to stop and analyse the shit in DBS before jumping to any conclusions. If Dragon Ball, one of the easiest series to measure for this sort of hobby, needs to be scrutinized first, then so do other series. Is only fair.

I mean, I'd argue that light novels are relatively easier to argue for.we had tf like universal maximum
bionicles like mid tiers in oda piece
lmao
to
proper update a series, you need legit and valid feats
even if they obscure, as along as they fit the story and don''t contradict, the verse will get upgraded
and a big note: light novels have it harder, cuz it's words, no feats on panel
and we all know, that authors tend to exaggerate and don't info enough for their series
plus, accuracy of the translation
plus, accuracy of the translation

Like, it's pretty easy to find the source for a specific scan or not, barring issues of translation or the author exaggerating stuff.
What do you mean?vsbw has the tendency to like and upgrade only what they like and ignore other stuff - truly the wiki version of sb, lmao
Translation's probably one of the hardest parts about this stuff. Onscreen feats are easy, but stuff that's explained in dialogue or lore is a lot harder for this very reason.we had tf like universal maximum

Xhom already mentioned Nasuverse, which is probably the biggest offender of this, but other series are subject to this too. FromSoft stuff being the first to come to my head. Shit, even Soul Calibur (a series I bat for) isn't immune to this if the Soul Archive is anything to go by![]()

If that isn't the understatement of the century I don't know what is.souls has a fuckton of things lost in translation which makes sense because Miyazaki's some kind of paychopath with how much detail and weird linquistic bullshit he ties into the story, but it usually doesn't cross with this hobby much at least
Lokey is apparently planning on examining elden ring translations and writing a full thing on the cosmology soon, so curious if that reveals anything that isn't public knowledge yet
