Honestly the text is a bit confusing on that bit there is this from volume 4 page 214

The scene before their eyes was too horrific to bear. The lake which could never freeze, which had never frozen ever since they had been born, was now a solid sheet of ice.



So it's described as a solid "sheet of ice" but then it's followed by this line on page 215

It was impossible to imagine that such a huge lake could have frozen solid, yet the glittering ice before his eyes was reality.

Which seems to imply it's been frozen solid. The lizardmen are able to break out of it as well but it immediately refreezes.

Its also worth noting the lizardmen were all casting spells to protect themselves from the ice, apparently that shit was freezing/touching it was painful and it didn't behave like...actual ice, if you broke it it'd just instantly refill the broken space with more ice/refreeze. I think it's safe to assume it's a sheet? Considering the anime look but I don't think the author really cared.

The lake was 20 squared kilometers which is one of the reasons ainz tested it, back in the game the size of an area was regulated, in new world creation doesn't seem to have the same range limitations it did in the game.

I’m basing it on like a depth of a meter given the lake was something like 20 km in radius IIRC? Think even a thickness of 0.3 meters gets you around 5-6 megatons IIRC.

EDIT - ~32 megatons at a depth of 0.3 meters.

It's 20 km squared according to the light novel,

From volume 4 page 17
This lake was over twenty square kilometers in size, and resembled an inverted gourd.

There might be some translation issues afoot, the fan translations put 20 km squared, the yenpress translation reads as follows

North of the forest was a huge lake. This body of water was shaped like an inverted calabash, split into an upper and lower lake, With a diameter of about twenty-four miles.

I wonder what the Japanese Raws said at this point because im starting to suspect the author just wrote it's fucking big mate.

Anyone here good with japenese writing? Cause I found the raws, but google translate has not been forthcoming with what part of it is 20 km
 
Thank you, the ai seems to agree with the fan translations of 20 km squared! Assumedly the yenpress translator got confused/made a mistake. God that was a pain in the ass.

Because as I have stated before and again for all of Spacebattles loving to act like they have science, physics and anime on their side, they have no goddamned idea of how to really do anything related to VS debating even on the basic bitch scale VSB does.

They never actually give any real look overs to the feats that have happened, they only see what happens and thinks is it massively impressive or not with nothing else behind it and try and argue against feats with the same terrible logic. They barely can even grasp the concept of including KE into primary projectile abilities, let alone that animation styles are not the end all, be all(See how they are freaking out for Mahoraga despite it being the same damn issue MHA and Demon Slayer have) and so on.

Thus, they will point to the Nuclear Explosion skill because it said "A district was destroyed" and think New World Cities = Modern Day Cities(Or even Cities from the Medieval Ages) when the little info we got from the book comes off like E-Rantel is a small town even compared to typical towns in Medieval Times which would make it's district the equivalent of a suburban neighborhood... which is not that big.
 



I like how I can find a topic that I have no "bias" of any kind and it effortlessly proves my point that these topics shouldn't even EXIST, yet people are jumping on ridiculously stupid highs to pretend Jogo has a chance because "The Anime makes him look more impressive than he is" when on actual closer inspection(@ChaosTheory123 ) it's no different at all.
Endeavor would cook his ass yet people still argue that Jogo has a chance of winning because "He can create Magma"... which is nowhere near as hot as Endeavor's Flames as Magma tend to only be around 2400 Degrees at it's hottest...

I have to disagree with this a bit, erantel is able to hold 250,000 people on top of their normal population (Which seemingly isn't much smaller then 250,000 as its noted having 250,000 people in the city itself isn't that shocking just that they'd all pile into one ring of the city). The city is just large enough to house 250,000 extra people from across the kingdom within it's walls. This is made weirder as its also only labeled as a large city, there are seven other large cities not counting the capital. (Now to be clear what makes it weird is the fact the 250,000 people are inside the city, usually armies would set up around/outside cities but they just marched into the outer ring of erantel and seemingly had plenty of space to train/live. Even weirder when one considers 1/4 of the outer ring of the city is a giant graveyard. So with 3/4 of one 1/3 of the city they can hold 3% of their total population of their entire country with ample room to train)

It would feel a lot less weird if they had a large population but eight million really isn't that many spread across the rather large area they occupy, especially as it seems a large amount of them pile into cities. Like for some reason they've just designed seemingly oversized cities. Midevil times like 10% of a given population would live in cities with the rest sticking to rural areas. But overlord seems to imply some thirty to forty precent of their pop live in centralized cities for some reason.

In the end the real answer is likely the author doesn't maths which is why history before five hundred years ago is basically gone (It's only been six hundred years since the introduction of tiered magic in the world but it's treated like such a common fact of life despite some long lived species still being around. Even with numerous player incited genocides you'd think there'd be some records of the fact teired magic wasn't always there but it's basically treated as a fact of life. Even the slaine theocracy doesn't seem to remember the time before their gods and teired magic, and they're the most protected group in the world)

Five hundred years is a long time but magic appearing suddenly for all the races that never had it is kinda a big deal you'd expect more records of.

Nuclear blast range should be larger or equal to 50m to equal or smaller to 100m it was called one biggest aoe spell outside of super tier

How'd you come to that conclusion? It has to be bigger then fifty due to scream of the banshee covering fifty in all directions but Im not sure where your getting 100 meters being the limit
 
Touma blocks one, then dodges the other 3. Or even the over 20 that Mugino can now fire.

Don’t mean nothing when Touma was able to survive Othinus’ crossbow
