Death Battle Discussion

Also this is a personal thing but item descriptions as feats have always been ass in my opinion. It doesnt matter what verse it is. unless we see that item do the shit its been said to do then it means jack and diddly

Welp...

They justified Joker winning due to Almighty Attacks bypassing the Omnipotent Orb. And they also used Eyes of Heaven as a weakness for Giorno despite it being non-canon

The animation popped off so hard i'm not even mad though. Was an absolute feast for the eyes.

What did you think of Deathbattle's reasoning?
Like I said.

I agree with it for the most part.

Earlier I didn't really know what Joker had, but once I read the D1 breakdown it makes sense for me to see Joker winning. I didn't have access to all that information they had. Along with their sources to back it up.

I don't really buy into the whole "Eye over Heaven" shouldn't count. Because iirc, the mangaka did write it. Even if it's not canon. So if Dios able to override GER according to the mangaka. Than I'm not going to sit here and split hairs. The simplest solution is just go with the mangaka.

The funniest part is DB didn't even use all the resources they had at their disposal for Joker.

Eye of Heaven isn't "canon" in the sense that it did not actually take place in the timeline. But it's still valid as a source since it was made by the creator and is consistent with the characters otherwise.

I haven't actually watched it yet but I already figured Joker was gonna get some crazy scaling from the way they've handled shit in the past.

Tbh they didn't use SMT scaling.

Just standard Persona stuff iirc.

They just gave Joker the win based off of the omnipotent orb’s vague ability description, really. Saying Almighty Attacks can bypass it so they can bypass GER.

Meant more they were going to take the Persona stuff at face value. The Metaverse overwriting the real world and perception influencing reality can basically be used to justify anything if you don't consider scale to be a limiting factor like we do.

Now that seems odd since it's not like GER blocks or nullifies the attack itself, it just makes it so you didn't throw the attack. Jokers ability to overcome Yabbadabbado erasing him would have at least been a somewhat valid argument but I don't see the element of the attack playing into it.
