Apocalypse seems to be the new fad. What's your favorite?
As for me, I've always been a huge fan of The Maze Runner series by James Dashner and Gone by Michael Grant. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. The Maze Runner series tops my list because the concept of a virus, created by humanity, causing widespread plague and societal collapse is spot on (before COVID-19, mind you).
I guess Mistborn counts. Not the usual apocalypse story, but a tyrannical overlord ruling the world for 1000 years and halting all technological advancement can make it a pretty shitty place to live.
Didn't think Ender's Game counts but I guess that.
There is another YA Novel that stuck with me not as being good(as it's core concept doesn't work as well as they think they do) but it did stick with me.
