Continuing this here instead of flooding the Circus Thread
I never really felt like it ever lost focus. The Dark Masters being evil Precursors who created and controlled the Metal Heads made them an effective overarching villain, and all the enemy factions were aimed at the same end goal.
That is implied with Jak’s comment to Errol about Dark Maker’s “not playing nice” to those who make deals with them while specifically mentioning the Metal Heads.
But even then, it messes with the established lore from the second game that the Metal Heads were the primary enemies of the Precursors and led by Kor with no mention of Dark Makers, which is why I feel they were sidelined more then anything.
The only explanation I can think of is the Precursors being so embarrassed at being nearly wiped out by their own kind driven insane by Dark Eco (The Dark Makers), that they intentionally kept them a secret and just blamed everything on the Metal heads alone,
Errol being an unstoppable hater driven insane by Dark Eco after all the shit he gave Jak was hilarious to me. He was an insane pawn motivated by a personal grudge, and while he lacked the stage presence of Praxis and Kor, I hated him on a more personal level than either.
And a simp for Keira being the source of his grudge against Jak on top of that.
Still he might as well have just been a completely different character in 3. Even his past hate for Jak isn’t presented. His first response he has upon meeting Jak again is fear and wishing it was anyone else but him.
Gol and Maia coming back would have been neat.

I didn't really like the Temple tbh. It was a nice throwback to Jak 1 but wasn't a particularly fun level outside fighting the Baron at the end. The Palace was definitely the peak of Jak 2, which is unfortunate since it kinda sizzles out and then nothing else in the game matches up.
You fight the Baron at the end of the Palace section, not the Precursor Temple. And both were some of the best levels in the entire series for men. The Temple for being a fun break from the dystopian future setting of the rest and the Palace just being an incredible moment that ends with your first fight and getting even with the Baron.
I think the game actually peaks at the last part after the Baron finds the Precursor Egg in both story and gameplay with shit like raiding the Ammo Keep to free the rest of the Underground, finally killing Krew in a boss fight before he can release the Piercer Bomb, fighting your way through the city now completely overtaken by Metalheads and turned into a full blown war zone, and fighting your way thought the Metal head nest singlehandedly, activating Mar’s Gun, and confronting Kor
Not to mention, Mar’s Tomb and the second fight with the Baron all before that.
I hated the racing mini-games in Jak 2, which probably kept me from appreciating the stadium
Really easy once you master all the shortcuts.
Jak 3 had a consistent series of banger set pieces, and it saved the best ones for the end.
The return to Haven City through a valley full of those sling bastards who could snipe you from a mile away, culminating in a fight with an actual fucking Precursor guardian robot (chimera though it was), the dinosaur hunt, finding that damn satellite in the dust storm, climbing the monk temple only to glide down off it again, the seige of the Air Factory, the rhino car ride with Damos, the dive to the planets core, the spaceship raid, and especially the final fight against the Planet Shaper.
Among the ones you listed, I really liked shooting Metalhead Dinosaurs, the monk temple segment, and blowing up the KG Deathbot factory a lot,
Best car in the game with one of the best side characters along for the ride.
We needed more missions with the Gila Stomper.

I cant say i agree with that since Jak 2's combat was so much calmer than Jak 3's. You can (and generally were better off) use only the Blaster for 90% of the game. Whereas in Jak 3 you use Yellow by default until you get swarmed, switch to Red to clear space, use Blue for big single targets or bosses, and Purple as "fuck this fight".
The Reflexor spin was hilarious but was generally a good way to burn through ammo better spent taking out fliers or snipers. If you were getting swarmed you were much better off using Red 2/3 or doing the Spin with Blue 1 (or 3 if you felt like playing a Macross anime lol).
More importantly, in Jak 3 most combat doesnt end until you disengage. You have an objective to complete and until you do you get progressively more swarmed, so actually using the more efficient weapon lets you get through the missions much easier.
Playing the whole game. I could end everything with just a few rounds of either the Beam Reflexor or the Red’s Plasmite RPG. Especially if you spend orbs to increase your ammo stock and damage output
Beam Reflexor was so ridiculous, there were times where I not only cleared the room of enemies, but I’d walk into the next room where I was supposed to meet more enemies just to see only what they leave behind upon dying because several stray shots actually reached and accurately hit them as well
