I was pretty sure melkor was the last scum but as I said to Ultra if they were actually a roleblocker we wouldn't learn anything by me redirecting them to themselves as it would just block everythingI redirected him to himself as we were only looking for one hostile killer at the time so I wanted to clear him if he wasn't the shooter or kill him if he was

Town can give wolves towny roles for town cred
It isn't "bastard" to do so. Bastard is when either:
1) Their are unnannounced game changing mechanics
2) The host lies to the player

Yeah a role like that can be given to scum in order to give them something to claim. Talking at night potentially has utility for scum as well, it allows them to see reactions to whatever flip just went down and then have a better idea of whom to kill after they figure out who's onside and who isn't. I agree giving scum the Cop or Vig is bastardly but your role this game doesn't come close to that in terms of power imo.

In fairness we were in a bit of a weird situation. We were town but couldn't claim our actual roles, but rather conceal who our mason partner was. It was kinda difficult to play an unrestrained town game like that, with the added difficulty of one of us randomly turning into the SK on any given night.
