Naruto: Feats and Discussion Thread

Part 1 Naruto was in a weird situation

It had to focus on the Genin students with the adults regulated to the background, yet Kishi needed to show why said adults earned their rank at the same time

The Chunin Exam was a good way to fix this since it had to focus on nothing but students against students

But then the war breaking out led to some awkward moments like Anbu getting outdone by the Sound 4 that the likes of Kiba or Choji could later on fight

Really, the Anbu in general got it the worst. Jonin at least had Kakashi and Guy to represent what their capable of.

Anbu were basically Narutoverses Stormtroopers

1- this shit sucks

2- some of the scaling makes zero sense lmao. The data entries have fucking Cho Cho having higher strength than Naruto and Sasuke
The kids are also all over the place. You have them seem far more skilled in Ninjutsu than the P1 kids, and yet at the same time are shown shit like Shikadai (who's >~ Boruto) instantly giving up against like, 10 clones, when Nardo could make a thousand in chapter 1.

There's also this ninga who somehow tanks a Rasengan from Boruto, yet somehow later gets k.o'd by a kick from Sarada. Is the takeaway supposed to be fatso > P1 Kabuto, or that Boruto's Rasengan just sucks?

thats what happens, when your series is badly written, and people were mad about kubo's scale in the final arc, kek

the only reason to watch the anime, is only for the hd budget on the momoshiki and jigen fights, lel

the manga's early arcs were so bad, it's crazy, not like in the timeskip, it makes sense, but hey. let's say, you just roll with it, at this point

both anime and manga, overall show insane inconsistent feats/pl levels portrayal

for example, in anime, one of the worst garbage i ever seen was, jiraiya and p1 nardo fighting against urashiki, a gai who is supposed to be >> juubito, at least, kek

overall, burrito/boringto is top 5 terrible series of the past years, kishi should be ashamed at this point, smh
 

The Timeskip makes it even worse which is absolutely amazing considering as you stated Part 1 is still absolutely inconsistent as shit.

Probably the former two, since the AMBU talking doesn’t seem to be older than 30

Was moreso refering to the "no Chuunin level ninja would be able to do that" statement (Journeyman is the early English translation for Chuunin, it just gets dropped later on) but yeah, he's also noted to be hilarously talented

Thats the thing I’m referring to how Kakashi & Itachi were above Chunnin when they entered too.

They were promoted early in their lives, like how Gaara immediately became Hokage at such a young age. Its very obvious Gaara was above Chunnin—since the only character who became Chunnin in Part 1 is unironically the weakest one in Konoha 12, as the prerequisite of being a Chunin is reliant more on having a strategic, leader-like mind
 
Burrito lowkey follows this to some extent

Boruto's team is enthrusted to do a B-rank mission, which is hyped to be a level of difficulty Genin Gaara could handle


Boruto alone then goes on to hold his own vs Shojoji, who defeats some Jonin in the anime + takes Rasengan better than Kabuto could

Also defeats old Ao with some help

This is funny because Kakashi made a comment on how the Zabuza mission, which was initially a C-Rank escort mission, into an A-Rank
 
Oh, forgot to mention Konohamaru wasn't going with them, so, it was only the trio that was enthrusted to be able to do the B rank mission.

In the Ao arc, they also hold their own vs some robots Konoha deemed were too overwhelming for Konohamaru and this other Jonin (although, with the help of a dude with ninja tech)

I mean realistically yeah, they were pmuch dealing with two Elite Jonin (judging by Haku's war arc feats)

They only really ever managed to accomplish that mission due to Haku holding back + Naruto going ham on him at the last minute. Realistically they would've gotten trashed in any other scenario
 
Early Burrito is this problem but 100x, since it's supposed to be the story of Boruto (a Chuunin level kid) but at the same time has the whole alien ordeal going on, so it becomes this mish mash where the kids somehow become relevant in places where they blatantly shouldn't be
 
That’s the problem with Boruto

Kishi really should have just had this series take place in the distant future where all the relevant characters in Naruto are long dead and we got a whole new generation

But Kishi probably thought the series couldn’t stand on its own without Naruto and Sasuke still in it

And what you get is a mess with Naruto and Sasuke becoming regular jobbers and the kids having no time to even breathe, let alone develop naturally since they already have to face, on paper anyway, at least Madara level baddies

I say on paper because as it’s already been pointed out, the scaling is total ass
 
Fucking Sarada developing all 3 tomoes of her Sharingan and than Mangekyo Sharingan almost right afterwards just by breathing when it took her dad ages to do the same is a good example of what I mean

Well, asspull powerups is the least of Sarada’s problems anyway

 
It was Kurama boosted Naruto tho

One could sorta explain it away saying it was the highest expression of KN0 shown till maybe like, the Sasuke fight

Sorta makes sense since those are the two most dramatic events that had happened to Nardo in P1 (Sasuke "dying" and abandoning the village respectively)

Only thing that doesn't make a lot of sense there is SRA Sasuke taking a beating from KN0 when it was implied said form could kill Haku with one punch
