It does not. Sayng it was born on cheese doesn't illustrate how it has any actual consequences on gameplay or even the characters. They are literally the same characters and anyone who played both can see it. The only thing we get is slightly less dialogue.

He gets treated the exact same way in both games. Big Guy you don't wanna fuck with. Except now we get more into him as a person and we see how the plaga corrupted the town priest into Saddlers puppet as opposed to him being silent the whole time. Something priests aren't really known for. He gets his own chase section as well. So damn what if they hastened his transformation lol. The boss fight is also just as engaging if not more so. mendez is nothing but a win tbh
