Jesus Gero, I can see why you did whatever it took to get your wife back.

So we've got a whole bunch of giant ape Titans, including an Orangutan (at least color wise anyway) looking motherfucker as the main villain, along with a "mini-Kong" whom I assume will have a "Son of Godzilla" like role in the movie.

It looks like they're trying to push Kong as the real "hero" of this franchise at this point, while Godzilla is just there to lend a hand and because people would be pissed if he wasn't. I mean I get that Kong is the Western made monster here but don't go forgetting which one of the two is going to be putting the most assess in the seats to watch the movie. :maybe

King should be the hero, tbh. Godzilla always lives in the grey area—more of a force of nature than Kong. Ever since his first movie, Kong was always a Tragic Hero.

Eh I suppose that's true, point taken.
Still there are more Godzilla villains to bring in later and I hope he gets more focus when it comes to them.

I... disagree with that, not just going with @Solar Sailor 's point but also going with the fact that while King Kong is the American Kaijuu that seems to take spotlight from Godzilla, Godzilla in the American Adaptation is actually far closer to his Original Japanese Counterpart give or take a few parts and pieces and thus wouldn't be a hero either.
This also takes into the fact that King Kong's movies have always grossed very well for an American Kaijuu movie themselves and King Kong is just as memorable as Godzilla is for us.

I wonder how long before they start making GOOD King Kong and godzilla games

Honestly, could have been a much bigger streamer with more positive impact if it weren't for his mental health . I hope his attempt to turn things around is legit.
It’s not. Hes always lying through his teeth and people have hella receipts of him going back to his behavior. He says LTG is a character but him playing the nice guy is the character. Him saying racist shit, doxxing minors and making up lies to put himself in the victim position is the real LTG

This. It's like saying DarkSydePhil is a character when there is damn good reason why the FGC at large despises Phil along with anyone who has met him for a period of time.
LTG is a bastard, 100% percent and that doesn't change at all.

A good video going into how so much sub favoritism is more due to fans being too comfortable with Japanese for so long without understanding it to the point they can't stand it in English despite it really being the same thing.

I get what you mean. The Mangenta color in Godzilla’s Spikes made me want to see Space-Godzilla as a villain—and I want Godzilla to be developed more as a character too.

To me, it’s just simply that Godzilla is a pretty complex character to pull off, because his entire characterization always pulls in different directions. Sometimes he’s the embodiment of a specific horror for humanity (the embodiment of the Atomic Bomb, the embodiment of human suffering, the embodiment of Nature’s overwhelming force, etc) and thus portrayed as a villain outright—and sometimes he’s more than a bit heroic and defends humanity against other malicious monsters.

The way I see it, in order to have your cake and eat it too, there is going to have to be some fluidity between those two attributes while also keeping Godzilla’s natural mystique. Godzilla being more of an “anti-hero” makes more sense than being a paragon, as it at least gives him some flexibility in potrayal.

If you’re solidly just talking about how you want Godzilla to have more focus as a character? I also getcha and share that sentiment. I always liked Godzilla more, but I understand making Kong the hero in this case because he straight up lost to Godzilla in their last movie—imagine how pissed I would be as a Superman fan if after BvS where Superman lost to Batman and got killed by Doomsday the sequel starts with Batman getting more screen time & becomes the “hero” of the movie a second time. I’d be pissed. Kong got the L in their last movie so it’s ok if they give him some sort of W here. That’s just me tho.

Honestly, that's been something I've been surprised people actually legit believe is somehow a thing even now in 2023.
Like differences between Japanese VA and English VA will massively vary between people but it's insane when I hear people be like "This shit be cringe, this is why you go with the Japanese version" and it's the exact same shit and it's like "My dude, there's nothing different about it at all!".
The most infamous moment for me about this was Maximillian playing Tecmo Koei's Dissidia Final Fantasy in which he wanted to hear the voices of the characters in their Taunt wheel and getting disgusted by how... anime they sound, I guess and then going to the Japanese voices and thinking that they are just better and virtually EVERYONE in the chat was like "My dude, there's no difference whatsoever" and Max's response kills me because and I quote "Atleast I don't understand it" as if that makes it any better at all :risigif

Dub is in a losing battle because a lot of anime was made with the japanese language in mind.

Even then a good dub >>>>>> the best sub in the right conditions. Black Lagoon and Cowboy Bebop cant be watched any other way.

At this rate Godzilla is the Old wise mentor and Kong the Young but inexperienced student who has a few things to learn before he can become the master.
