It was announced on tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW that Kairi Sane is injured due to an attack by Pure Fusion Collective and will be replaced in next week’s Triple Threat first-round match in the tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Don't get me wrong, I fucking love Iyo, she is the best in-ring women's wrestler in this company and it's not even God damned close outside of like Stephanie Vaquer or Giulia on NXT.
My issue here is that you had to treat her like a background character when she was #1 contender for the women's world title and had her lose CLEAN when she shouldn't, just to justify the idea of her even going NEAR this championship as opposed to the Women's world title for the foreseeable future.
This also DESTROYS one of the main appeals of THIS tournament over the Women's US one, which was that I couldn't predict who was going to win. Dakota could have won, Lyra could have won, Kairi (who was my preferred pick by the way so thanks for that asshole) could have won and all of them would have been fine. But now, not only has Kairi been robbed of her chance to do anything singles related AGAIN, it now makes the result obvious as NO SHIT IYO IS GOING TO WIN NOW.
And I was enjoying the shit out of this too, it was even doing its job as I now want to see a lot more of Kayden and Katana, they impressed the hell out of me in their respective matches. We were giving the mid-card a chance to show out but now lets put a main eventer in there instead to take the title out from under them.
The ONLY benefit of this, is that we will FINALLY get Iyo Sky vs Lyra Valkyria in the semi-finals, the rubber match that we SHOULD have gotten nearly half a year ago. And obviously that Iyo will put on BANGER after BANGER as women's Intercontinental champion. there's no doubt about that at least.
