Yeah, this crowd was fucking dead and the TV and crew was going hard in pretending it was anything but dead.
AEW seriously needs to cut down on their PPV something fierce as crowds should not be this dead.
It's not even JUST the length of the PPV that was the issue here, but the fact they'd they were following the Hollywood Ending with Toni vs Mariah and another good match in Kenny vs Takeshita, BACK TO BACK TO BACK. Of course the crowd was dead by this point.
Meanwhile before this chain of matches, we had the Continental and Tag Title matches that SHOULD have been put in between the bigger matches to give the crowd a chance to catch their breath because no one gave a fuck about them. The match order was nonsensical for that entire show.
Unfortunately I think this is them not having the balls to turn Bianca heel, which would have been the best thing for the story. Instead of Rhea's interruptions being a justified response to the machinations of a manipulator in Bianca, they're being portrayed as her just being whiney.
Granted there's a chance they could still do it and Bianca is still just putting up an act but, to be honest, I'm less and less confident it's gonna happen with every show.
If there's no heel turn for Bianca = Iyo must win.
I wouldn't say she's trash per se, just boring. She basically is just female Babyface John Cena only without the charisma or mic skills and being better in the ring doesn't make up for that.
She's better than Jade at least, though Naomi is easily the best of that trio and yet she's consistently treated the worst.
That would be my argument but for now, we can only hope they LISTEN to the crowd.
Because the crowd are still behind Rhea and Iyo, Bianca is the only one getting booed when she says she's gonna be champion.
I hate how this new support over the years turned Sky Striker from a control deck that rewarded you for managing your resources and knowing when to pop off to just slightly less braindead Tenpai Dragon Going Second, Board Breaker spam OTK
