Just got done watching the latest edition of All Roll-up Cop-out Wrestling (aka AEW Dynamite).
Granted it's because the Death Riders actually dropped the trios titles to the Opps, but still it was actually entertaining stuff with a story behind it and made for a feel good moment when the Death Riders finally took an L, which is more than can be said for anything else.
Powerhouse Hobbs replaced a sick Hook and the pairing of HIM and Samoa Joe looks SO much more believable than Hook and Joe. Shibata is just like whatever, but if you're not going to have the Hounds of Hell beat the Hurt Syndicate, here's two guys right here you could have do it.
Now Samoa Joe actually took out Moxley (who replaced the injured Pac) here with a sleeper to win the belts so shouldn't Joe get a World Title match now? He's not going to win but you can't exactly sweep that under the rug, especially given he literally put the fucker to sleep to win the match
- TWO tournament matches in a ROW...ending on a roll up.
- Of course Mercedes beats Athena and we already have Toni Storm having a stare down with her, so there went ANY hope of Mercedes not winning this whole tournament and most likely the title (which would be her 5th title that she has right now mind you). Unless Toni does the same thing after the Hayter/Statlander match I guess. Hoping for Athena to cost Mercedes the final, do the rematch in Texas where Athena should WIN but I'm not holding my breath
- Josh Alexander debuting to a fucking loss (it doesn't matter that it was a roll-up, he's a technical wrestler so if anything, that makes him look WORSE) and becoming a lackey for the Don Callis family.
- Konosuke Takeshita having to do the job for Will Ospreay, doing his damndest to make a good match of it only for the most overrated wrestler on the planet to not sell a fucking thing for him and take me out of the match completely. Yeah "There's nothing like a Will Ospreay match", nothing that'll put you to sleep quicker. Fuck's sake, you got youngsters in their twenties in Je'von Evans and Leon Slater who are just, if not MORE athletic, tell better stories AND put on better matches regularly.
