It's like they want to have their cake (have Batman kill a villain to "shut people up") and eat it (ie still keep the Joker around) and it just doesn't work.

If you're gonna do it at all then you have to really commit. First off Jason would likely be the last guy to get killed (if at all), since Batman would now be doing exactly what Jason does. If anything this would be when they'd join up again and Joker would be the first guy on the chopping block.

Frieza has no depth whatsoever and gets random power-ups later on....Aizen is way better.

Neither does Aizen, the dude is just a sociopath with a god complex. He's not interesting in any way. Neither of them are MEANT to have any depth, they're not meant to be relatable of sympathetic. They are both pure evil, by Kubo's own admission in Aizen's case mind you.

Trying to say I don't understand character writing while evidently not understanding not every villain needs to be deep. Sympathetic/Relatable antagonists and irredeemable/pure evil villains are both perfectly viable approaches and whichever is better depends on the execution and personal tastes.

So yeah, I'm gonna go with the guy who headlined Dragon Ball's best saga over the guy who carried one of Bleach's worst arcs straight into the ground every damn time.

And it’s not like Aizen was all that deep anyway.

Frieza singlehandedly set the plot into motion with his actions by destroying planet Vegeta and having Goku sent to Earth as a result, felt like an insurmountable threat from beginning to end, and after all the atrocities he carries out, seeing him getting utterly manhandled by Super Saiyan Goku as a result of his own actions is nothing short of cathartic

That’s all the makings of a great villain
 

While I do think Freiza is overrated to say he has no depth is some clown tier shit
 
My only problem with Frieza is he’s overdone at this point.

This latest arc with Black Frieza better settle things once and for all with him.
 
Goku isn’t gifted by Saiyan standards but he’s certainly gifted by “every other race” standards

His power level still jumped from 90,000 to 3,000,000 on genetics alone

Yeah but that’s not gifted, that’s just from what’s normal relative to his race
