i know what you mean, and i dont mind the upscaled blu ray versions of those movies, they are more than ok, they look sharper even

a movie to be good, doesnt need lol mcu tier of explosions or flashy effects, an example, kek

these movies, despite having a large amount of cheese and cringe, you could tell that those movies still look and are more enjoyable, because the actors, weren't acting like ''robots'', they were more natural, had more emotion, they were feeling the role, even if they weren't fully accurate, now that i am older and more experienced, i can tell, they did, the best they could do, with whatever stuff/amount of info, they had back there available

meanwhile, now, many years later, with this high level usage of internet and all which evolves, most of the actors, still fail, to convince the crowd/viewers to take em seriously, despite the high advanced tech and all, most of them, can't act, its the truth, and they prefer to rely on boring scripts/one liners, lel

95 MK was handled a bit more seriously, but still funny at times, and had much better fight scenes and while the characters were still mostly thin they were well casted and likeable to the point they still inspired how we see the characters today. Cary's Shang Tsung is still the best and him returning in MK 11 was one of the few good things about it.

we all know, 80s/90s/00s are the best eras of action/fantasy/sci fi movies, etc

so many gems, so many good movies, yes even the b tier ones, i appreciate the effort they used there, more than now

cuz

now, most of the films/actors are ''spoiled'', all this high level tech, and they can make barely good and memorable good movies, they prefer to rely on cgi and cringe humor, than having the actor, feel their roles, and convince the crowd/viewers to take em seriously, that's why most movies from asia/bolly, are better now, their actors, can act better, as funny as it sounds, plus, they also got lit cgi effects

not to mention, thats why people still rewatch the older movies, because, more rewatching value/enjoyment, it's a similar case with most of the vgames

like, emulators winning atm, for reasons we know, and the amount of good/great next gen games, are so limited and rare, it's crazy

movies and vgames, so similar in way, on some aspects, that's why, aaa games or movies, can't win anymore

the bleach fighting games on the psp era, too good, along with the wii ones, back in the 00s, i miss the times, when the companies/studios were promoting various commercials/posters, etc, for those games, they were using actual effort, good times

Reading the new manga of author of Air Gear/Tenjou Tenge and i'm enjoying it more than his previous work so far, pretty nice
 
We were having this discussion because I found a terrible top 10 about characters with sad backstories of the big 3 were law is 10 and itachi is 1 and Musu flipped it to talking about assholes in the discord but I figure we should get more eyes on it.

I don't know if I can make one on who is the bigger asshole than the other but I can list off some asshole villain characters

Palpatine from Star Wars
Dio from JJBA
Griffith from Berserk
The Kurgan from Highlander
Ali Al Saachez from Gundam 00
The Joker(obvious I know) From DC comics
Carnage(Comic Cletus Kasady as the main example) from Marvel Comics
Colonel Yin from Missing in Action 2
Conquest from Invincible
Judge Holden from Blood Meridian
