OBD Convo #59: RealxEyes

And today I had to finally bid farewell to a nice old green foldable chair that I kept in my mum's bedroom to hold things by their bed for well over a decade after it became worn out and proved to be unsustainable for continued use when one of its four legs and joints broke and detached from the rest of its greater structure at large.

And just when I thought I was gonna have a note on a piece of paper I secretly wrote to my apartment building's porter(s) in a bid to convince them to keep it in one of the building's offices indefinitely rather than have the garbagemen take it and throw it away for good in a landfill, go undetected by my parents, they somehow found out when we came home from dinner and I was forced to scrap the note at home.

Guess my plan dun backfired men. Terrible miscalculation on my part to try and open the chair with the note without my parents looking back to notice.

Hope the chair gets properly recycled into something useful at least.

RIP Green Foldable Chair.

Sorry to be the one to get rid of you on Easter. You had a nice run. You will be remembered in the skies mate.

All in all between my personal revelation of Dave & Buster's in Times Square turning into what has become the worst place ever and the events that transpired today with my failed blood drive, this whole Easter weekend was both a rather sad, underwhelming, and disappointing one by every measure.

Tl;dr: Easter 2025 kinda sucked for me.

Couple stinkers towards the end and a main event that was killed stone fucking dead on arrival by the crowd REFUSING to play ball. Obviously the lack of Rock made it not hit has hard as it should anyway but the storytelling in the match itself was actually good and made all the sense, we just needed the crowd to co-operate to have it hit home, but NOPE. 🤷‍♂️
It's not the crowd's fault. I can understand why they wanted Cena to win. Better for the content.

What is at fault is the awful way the thing ended. If The Rock couldn't be there you don't bring in fucking Travis Scott for a spot like that.

Speaking of, guys this is finally starting to gain a little bit of traction. Please watch some of it and like/comment. I worked too hard on this. I don't even think this year's main event would make the top 20. C tier at best.

I can understand that too but when the reaction goes completely against the story being told where Cena is actively trying to ruin wrestling, it completely took me out of the match.

This isn't a Cena vs Punk at MITB. Punk had legitimate grievances with the company's management and was effectively the rebel in that scenario (not to mention people were sick and tired of Cena on top). It was understandable that the crowd would cheer for Punk regardless of where they were. Punk was only the heel in the company's eyes (no matter what Cena fanboys want to believe), whereas Cena here is definitively the heel in every sense of the word.

Again I get that people wanted Cena to win 17, but them refusing to react to the progression of the match appropriately definitely hurt it A LOT in terms of the believability. They could have cheered when he actually won and I wouldn't have cared, but they could have played ball during the match is all I'm saying. I get you can't control the crowd but that just makes the fact they can make or break a match feel all the more shitty.

Unfortunately we couldn't get Cody on the mic to sway the crowd like he was able to do on Smackdown (something that tells me there's no legitimate reason to boo the man, he's too damn good) so it is what it is.

It worked well enough ONLY because Travis legitimately injured Cody at Elimination Chamber and it allowed Cody to get his payback for that but you're right, it needed The Rock in that spot.

I honestly didn't think this hurt as much as the crowd did.

We all thought that AI was gonna take over the world.

Turns out AI may start the crusades.

First we thought Skynet would try to kill us all, then we learned it might try to kill itself, now we see it might just convert and accept our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

That's a real character arc. :jameson-lol:

No fucking Ed Edd N Eddy either, the biggest crime.
Even though I'm not a hardcore fan of Ed Edd and Eddy (but still enjoyed watching the show back then a little), I actually kinda agree with you.

Finn is overrated. I'd put Dexter, Blossom, Ed Edd Eddy, and Grim from Billy & Mandy instead. But KND is one of my most favorite Cartoon Network shows just below Grimm Adventures of Billy & Mandy, so I'll be sad to see him excluded from my list.
