Naruto - Completely fucking bastardized the concept of redemption arcs. The only two that actually landed were Zabuza and Gaara, the transition from the others pretty much all came completely out of nowhere and leaves the cast looking like idiots for forgiving these people so readily. It's a perfect example of an author trying WAY too fucking hard to make the story ambiguous, because he's under the mistaken belief that it inherently makes the story better, only to realize he's no where near a good enough writer to actually pull it off. The only thing I give him credit for is that at least Madara stuck to his guns, he still wasn't a good villain but at least he didn't get a crow-barred in redemption arc. He can hold that over most of the villains in the cast, even though Part 1 Orochimaru was still a way better villain.
